I hope it won't be a spoiler to anyone that Foster is going to join Max at the tabloid before much longer. Once he moves to Florida, "Scandal Sheet" will be introducing a lot of new characters. I have a VERY preliminary sketch of some of those characters and I thought I'd share it with you!

This is a picture of <b>Andrea Campos,</b> her son <b>Cameron,</b> and their cat <b>Mariposa.</b> Andrea works at the tabloid as a proofreader; Max is smitten with her, but she's not sure she wants to date him. She's ten years older than he is, and a single parent to boot - she's wary. Her son, for his part, likes Max - but Mariposa the cat does NOT.
Like I said, this is very preliminary - I may change the way they look between now and when they're introduced.

What that planned as an easter egg or just a coincidence?
The cat's name, Mariposa, means "butterfly"... the reason they call her that will be fodder for a throwaway joke in an upcoming strip.
