Scanner troubles

My scanner crushes images, scans pictures improperly, lightens the bottom of the image (resulting in a great loss of image detail), and scans colors improperly (example: flesh tones magically turn purple!). Would this be a problem with the scanner drivers, or the scanner itself?

I don't know what's up, but my scanner does a lot of things wrong, too. The stupid thing feels it must find every different shade of gray in my drawings, resulting in really crappy images. (sighs and attempts to give scanner a talking-to)

What you need to do is find the option on your scanner that changes the resolution from Greyscale to True color... or something like that. If you add more color to your cartoons, for some reason, it seems to make the backgrounds whiter and the picture overall cleaner.

3 different scanners have worked this way for me, however, I'm not sure if yours could be adjusted like that.....

It's also so much easier to use the 'fill color' button, as I see you've been having some troubles with...

My scanner's a cheap digital research brand, model no. Sf-600E2.

My scanner program is Twain 32. Should I be using something else?

Your scanner crushes images because the light-bar thing does not move fast enough, and the lighting on the bottom is caused by having the light stay too long on one section. I sometimes get the purple-flesh tone because the light isn't quite warmed up yet, but all I have to do is scan it again after the light has been through the scanner once.

If I were you, I'd take the scanner in for repair or grab your warranty.
