...although I do have to say that Shishio's losing his touch when it comes to his comics these days.
...that's just the truth. He's trying so hard to "be himself" when it comes to the recent strips that he's losing touch with what made the comic funny in the first place.
I fail to see the logic here. My comic is autobiographical. I don't try to be myself; it comes naturally. To me, what this person is saying is equivalent to saying "He's trying so hard to breathe, he's hyperventilating."
I'm not upset about this, just curious is anyone feels the same way. And if not, what do you think of my comic? Have your thoughts changed over the course of my comic's run? If so, why?
One-liners: Come for the laughs, stay for the abuse.
Remember, everyone is a critic... it's the usual "The comic it's not going in the direction I want it to go so the creator must doing something wrong."
You can't keep everyone happy. It's your comic so you do whatever you want regardless what anyone says.
For what it's worth, in my opinion, your comic still as funny as it was in the beginning...
Artists are going to change their style and humor gradually over the life of their comic. It's inevitable, but whether or not the change is good or not is the tough part. It could be that you're getting worse, or that the reader doesn't want to accept the change. Maybe he's just losing interest, who knows.
I have no idea what the dude (dudette?) is talking about...seriously. I re-read the comics (whoah, there's more there than last time!), but there's not a massive leap- or really any leap- between the content of your first comic and the content of your last comic. The topics make me lol out loud because of the vulgarity, and the disclaimer put a smile on my face. Maybe the person criticizing you read the latest comic? You can poke at a lot of things, but people can seriously pull a hissy fir if you're mocking any part of their religion. If not, then I'd simply shrug it off...again, your comics' style and humour haven't changed that much from start to finish so far.
