In the last comic there's something in the background that kinda looks like a prehistorical lamp (glowing stones in a portion of wall)
But is that a on/off switch thingy hanging from it? That's very 'this age'.
------------------
MMMMmmm, am I supposed to write something smart here? If that's the case, I'm in trouble.
Modern dinosaurs?

Only took a day for someone to notice that. Not modern really, but they do have several advances and you'll see why soon. The stones do indeed glow, but have to be replaced every now and then when they dim. Outside the den, they have a bunch of them that pretty much act as natural light bulbs. They absorb the sunlight and refract it inside for a few days before needing to be out in the sun again. They generate zero heat, just light. As for the switch, it's not a switch in a conventional electric fashion, it merely pulls a shade over the light since constant light can be annoying. When the light's needed it can be pushed up into a small chipped away section of the wall. I spent a long time considering what kind of advancements Shivae would have in conjunction with those they trade with and since they don't have opposable thumbs they have to manipulate most things with their mouths if it's small. You'll also notice there seem to be blankets on a hardened nest. Clearly, those are NOT created by the Shivae.

I noticed it sooner , but didn't get the time to write about it.
I like the idea, since the beginning got me thinking these were just regular dino-like creatures. It's a good twist.
And about the blanket, I thought that of a fur from an animal they have hunted down. Well, still waiting for your the next comic (don't want to rush you, though )

*grin* Nah, you'll see several different creatures later on that will provide the proper contrast. These Shivae are sentient, not simply animals and there are races of sentients and sometimes even among their own there are simple 'beasts' who do not speak their language or know their ways.
Shivae are excellent hunters, but skinning an animal without marring the coat would be something very hard for them to do. *Let alone, drying it, stretching it, softening it, etc. Someone does it for them.*
