Weird... stuff.

Post by ZOMBIE USER 7833 »

So, yeah, I was just checking my log stuff for some reason, and people keep coming to my site despite the fact that I'm the worst person on earth. Like, a lot of people too, and I keep getting new readers. So I guess I better work on not sucking, mostly via updating at least once a week, if not the promised three times. My play is over, so if I don't have a comic and maybe a news post up by this (monday) evening, I would begin worrying about me and sending out search parties. Must finish drawing...

But that's not why I made this post. In searching the logs, I get to see what people are looking for when they find my comic. Usually I'm found with something innocent, that either comes out of some odd phrase I use accidentally, or something involving the name "Adam", yadda yadda. But I check it today, and I got my first referral from Ask Jeeves (the others were all from Google and Yahoo), and what was the person searching for? How to stay up all night? (my number 1 search string) Nope. Haloween (mispelled), no no. It was "Dragon Ball Z+porn+comics". Yes, someone found ARG! while looking for naked pictures of DBZ characters. I haven't had anything related to DBZ in my comic since March. The fact that I'm the first search result to pop up there kinda irks me as well. But if you're reading this, I'm sorry, man. No porn here.

Just thought I'd share.

When did you have anything DBZ-related? The short answer is March, but I'm lazy.
Also, I keep coming back to see if you've at least posted something in here, if not made a new comic. Just like you did now. Funny, ain't it?

Yeah, you're the only one who takes the extra step of going to the forum, I think, but you've got at least 20 or 30 people who stubbornly check it daily to see if I did anything, I figure. Maybe more than that, but I figure a lot of my visitors is people who are seeing it for the first time as well. Some of them probably leaving immediately, horrified to find a lack of cartoons having sex.

Bah.

So, no changes in the updating schedule, then?

I dunno, I'm debating a hiatus, actually. This whole "having a job" thing is more time consuming than I'd initially planned. And it's just gonna get crazier until x-mas. I wonder if my sanity wouldn't benefit from temporarily having one less thing to worry about.

I mean, it's not like I've been doing a very good job the past couple months anyway...

I'm thinking of just continuing drawing comics, and updating them again starting January 1st, 2003. Which will be a Wednesday so, hey, that works out nicely. Maybe I'll have a real buffer by then, which I haven't had since I first started, back in March. And since I (probably) won't be updating daily, I might actually be able to maintain the updates. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have gone daily when I first started, I didn't realize just how difficult it was to maintain that update schedule over a long period time. I could do it, but not while holding down a job or doing any other extracurricular activities. So yeah, much as I hate to do it mid-storyline, I guess I'm gonna go on a hiatus. And hey, it's only for a month and a half, no biggie. I'll probably get around to officially announcing that soon.

I shall recieve a Christmass present in the form of a new strip! And I'm Jewish, too!

What's this job thing all about, anyway?

Eh, it beats pumping my readers for cash, especially since I don't deserve it in that respect, not in a large enough quantity to be able to afford much, anyway. Working full time at the only Toys 'R Us in a hundred mile radius at the beginning of the shopping season, plus the theatrical stuff I keep getting pulled into for extracurricular stuff, I've barely had time to sleep and have the occasional proper meal, let alone manage a webpage. So once the holidays have past, and I stop working there, comic drawing will be something I can once again do.
