....Actually, in Greek mythology, Adonis was the son of Myrrha and Theias (Myrrha, being the daughter of Theias, was commanded to commit incest by the Goddess Aphrodite.) When her father found out that his partner was actually his daughter, he flew into a rage and chased her with a dagger. To help Myrrha avoid wrath, the gods turned her into a Myrrh tree. Adonis therefore emerged from the tree, grew up to be really handsome(he was adored by both Aphrodite and Persephone), and then got mauled by a wild boar and killed. =D Way to go there, sonny boy!
