Holden's lack of harpy blood

Keenspace has been messing me around- I cant post to an established topic; only make a new one. (Kelly, if you consider this spam- please delete it)
in responce to all of the people who think Holden has harpy blood--

nah, he cant have harpy blood (I.E; be a harpy).
in the rape scene Vincent was seen licking the blood off Holden's chest. If Holden was a harpy the blood would _not_ taste very good to Vincent (like, it would poison him)

theres a good chance that he got his power's from the harpy queen.
does this mean that somewhere out there there's a blade of grass (see FAQ about Arcana) that will cut you in half if you mow it?

Gooid point bruce. I forgot 'bout the bloodlicking in the rape scene.
So, Holden can't have harpyblood 'cause it's like poison for vampires and Vincent did survive the scene.
Guess that the "Queen-powers" theory is the only one left then.

Brilliant, bruce. ^^ I was thinking that too... that if Holden was a Harpy I'd have expected more backlash from their physical relationship (unless he's not a pure blood, but that's still less than I'd expect if he has any at all). There's the my-pain-is-your-pain power, but no one seems to be invulnerable to that. Curious, curious... Rilly has some good theories involving Arcana, too. I should drag her in here.

I think that Holden is Arcana

trapped inside a human body (whether by choice or by guile I don't know...I like to think she went of her own accord) So really Holden isn't a harpy, but Arcana's influence....gives him the colouring ne? Would also perhaps be a reason why Kisoka is looking out for him ne? or why he was being attacked by a big mean nasty beastie (I think he was at least...early on)

Well I have all sorts of other theories spinning off of this one...as well as a few different ones

but ah well...why spoil all the fun?

Well, I kind of go by the facts about Arcana in the FAQ section... it said that after Arcana was imprisioned she shattered her power.

"That's right. Arcana infused her power into everything living that could take it, anything, just to get it out of the reach of her captors. Plants, animals, and people, and when those things that hold her power die, the energy isn't destroyed, but returns to her. Weird, huh?"

So I think that Holden is just one of the things that holds some of her power, right? Makes sense AND he wouldn't have harpy "blood", so Vincent would be A-OK.

If only I weren't so lazy... or if Keenspace would change the moderator for this forum. >.> But they're busy enough right now. It's too much of a bother to sign in and out every time the board flips to delete messages.

For future reference: When you get the message saying This Page Cannot Be Displayed, or whatever it says after you post, go check the topic to see if your message got through before trying to post again. I think in most cases, it does go through. ^_^ And it saves on the confusingness.

Well, the harpy blood theory did have wings (ow, that pun hurt...), but good eye to those who spotted the blood licking. I guess the "Arcana power infusion" theory is the theory of choice right now, then?
