Then at the bottom it says "You only see a white page ? You're not trying hard enough !"

You actually thought up a joke !
Really, to learn apathy, you must spend at least three lectures with Cox. Otherwise, you just can't even scratch the surface of the religion which he has created around apathy.

I loved that special comic.
It was brill.

Cox isn't the only one who does apathy well.

Actually, I do inertia better than apathy. EG: drawing a comic is effort, so I'll rehash stuff and fiddle with software that'll end up taking longer than if I'd simply drawn the damn picture.

Same goes for photoediting...oh, and maths. I can't be bothered doing it the short but slightly harder way, so I'll do it the easy way and take a lot more time...

Mmmm, what I loved was that when I did maths, some hard questions, I could see the answer instantaneously, yet couldn't do the maths to get to the answer.

HA HA !!! I dont' have to do taht anymore ! I have no subjects which require showing extensive working out.
Instead, it's all referencing. Copy and Paste pretty much.

Just had a maths test. Tell me, how does one set out the start of the working for P(x) = x^3 + mx^2 + nx + 21, where (x+3) is a factor and (x+6) has a remainder of -99? (finding m and n)

Relax. It's all the same after you get to quartics. At least, that's what they say. And so now Uni maths is supposed to be easy...*shrug* Has anyone got Factor 9 for Graphics Calculator?

I haven't used my graphics calculator for (thinks) two years, apart from NaNoWriMo last year, to keep track of my word count and how much I needed to do each day

Mmm... Maths.
Strangely good at, never understood it, and very ambivalent towards it.
I much prefer programming. The maths involved in this is far more logical than some of the stuff we got involved in previously.
Apart from Cryptography. That maths is hardcore, freaky, and I have the barest understanding of how it works. After doing a semeter's amount of work upon it.
Still, god bless programming ! Which doesn't involve coding your own compiler !

I'm an arts student. I don't have to do maths any more. We have Saxon and Tycho for that.

Ah, but what, when you get down to it, do we really mean by smitten. I mean, It's all really open to interpretation.

Jo could *say* she smote us, but in 'reality' what she really did was Thought she smote us, thus, in the reality created by her impression, her senses, her 'input' shall we say, then she has indeed 'smote' us. Howeever in what we arts student's reluctantly call 'real' reality or 'true' space, what has happened is that we have, in fact, NOT been smote.

Something to think about really.

Smitten/Smote ? . . . ^_^; Riiigghhttt.
* cackles at the sword. * BWA HA HA HA HAAAA !!! ... * produces his Jo and performs the basic IMperial Guard kata with it, then does the 'bring it, don't sing it' gesture which made "Kiss of the Dragon" that much more entertaining. *
Anyway, Cryptography involves higher order functions and most importantly, Prime numbers. How is that hard ? Try working out what (2^164378)-1 equals. That's the current standard for commercially-available Cryptography PGP. Which is what we learnt in Tools of Analysis. That was... annoyingly difficult.
Up until they let us use computers to work it all out.
Still, I'm not meant to be used for maths ! I might have a natural talent for some of it, but that doesn't mean I like it any better than the next Art Student.
Still, smitten everybody... Not very nice.

I believe we've done the smitten vs smote argument before.

Smitten is when you fall in love.

Smote is when you smite someone, past tense. It's a Bible word.

Nah. Being Smote isn't so bad. Depends with what you get smote with. Like "I smote you with my might spear and magic helmet !" is gonna hurt.
But "I smote you with this feather !" isn't going to hurt. ... Unless the feather is made out of granite.
