I must admit that I'm unfamiliar with Lee's choice of music but I echo the sentiment. The people responsible for this atrocity did finite damage where they thought it would be an unending source of ruin for the US. The "loss of life" was extensive, but every one who died spawned a hundred, maybe a thousand patriots who are ripe with rage and crying out for justice, and not just in the US, but all over the world.
I'd say bin Laden is guilty, but he isn't the only one to blame. His people, meaning followers not his ethnic group, are as responsible. He's a maniac, no choice. They chose to follow him. The image that will remain with me for the rest of my life isn't of the planes hitting the WTC or the towers toppling. It's an image of people smiling happily and dancing in the streets over this devastation. I blame them. If it weren't for people having this congratulatory attitude toward this, people like bin Laden couldn't exist.
I think that every country that kills in the name of religion should be targeted in the american retaliation because, as long as they do, bin Laden-esque fanatics will spring up. I think every country where the public burns american flags in celebration of terrorist attacks should be added to that list because they hate because they are told to, not because there's a reason. I think that bin Laden, for promoting this and probably planning this, should die a thousand deaths drowned in the blood of innocents that he cares about. If Butch has gone looking for him, I have one thing to say to butch, " you bring the scalpel, I'll bring the fire ants."
The US will recover. The US will rebuild. The US will still exist in ten years, I'm not so certain about the middle east.
I would also like to point out that patriotism is all but dead in the US, or was until yesterday. Until yesterday morning, social security and weak leadership were the two hot topics in US political news (scandals notwithstanding) and this morning, there's an entire country, even a world, backing the US military in just about anything they do.
I also think that the people who crashed the hijacked jet in Pennsylvania should be posthumously decorated for dying in defense of their country. They are true heroes.
[This message has been edited by Pyromancy (edited 09-12-2001).]
