Just listened to the Tony Carey album. Good stuff. I love the fact that it's posted on the web.
Thanks for the heads up. What does anyone else think of it? 8)

Hey! You found the album! I nearly wet myself when I found out he'd be giving it away--I've been waiting almost 15 years for this album. So of course I love it.
It was more electronic/dance than I expected, but lately I've been listening to his "solo" stuff (he's the only member of Planet P as well, hence the quotes), which is much more guitar driven (if any of you find the album "Bedtime Story", buy it and love it). The first two Planet P albums have a lot of keyboard work as well, so I was okay with it.
I'd love to do a full-blown review of the album, but I just don't have the time. You guys, download it (it's free! come on!!) and give it a try. If nothing else, just try the song "Believe It". You'll be glad you did.
BTW, ARaider--did I ever send you those comics?

Tony Carey and other stuff
I've been a long-time Tony Carey/Planet P fan myself, going back to the first time I heard "I won't be home tonight" sometime back in the early.... well, you know when (I'm not THAT old, damnit!
). I've only listened to the new album once so I don't have a favorite tune yet.
You didn't send me that artwork, but I didn't ask yet so no worries. My own album has taken longer than expected, but it should finally finish before the month is out. Life happened: there were delays. The Hawaii fiasco alone took 4 months out of my life (long story..... strange story.... let's just not go there...).
Thanks for the reply.
And my friends, it's a FREE album, and the artist wanted it that way. Check out the Tony Carey album!

Actually, I should add that Mr Carey actually re-recorded & mixed the songs from their original 1998/2000 versions specifically to give them away on his website.
Everybody, check your 80s compilations. You might find "Why Me?" by Planet P Project or "A Fine Fine Day" by Tony Carey on one of 'em. If not, call your radio station and request them ("I Won't Be Home Tonight" is another winner, though it didn't chart in the states). You'll recognise at least one of them.
