BJ,
I don't think you're 'overdoing' the 'love story' thing. It's not like every other strip is about that subject. You have such a variety of characters and story lines that I see no problem.
that's my opinion and i'm sticking to it!
~Jason

I actually like love stories, but only if the relationships involved actually progress. I really get bugged by seeing people in a story waffle about. When a story does this, I call it "getonwithitosis", as I feel like screaming "Get on with it!" at the characters.
Avalon suffers heavily from getonwithitosis. I kind of like it, but it really gets bloody tedious at times.
If Victor were to spend the next three years looking at Jackie from afar, while she smiles back at him, but keeps falling short of actually asking out, then JF would be suffering from getonwithitosis as well. I'd hope that it wouldn't.
Of course, unlike Avalon, JF actually has other plot elements besides the drudgery of plodding romance.
-Zodo

I'm in the same boat as zodo (and that's scary, 'cause he's hogging the life-vest and eating all the survival rations), I like love-stories but I hate watching the characters never DO anything about it. The 'getonwithititis' that he talks about. =)
I doubt JF would go that direction, mostly 'cause BJ probably knows that we'd just pester Joey into beating him up for us if he did something like that. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/biggrin ... ychoBlonde

Some hasty replies:
I'm not gonna go Avalon on anybody any time soon (or ever). I don't think there are enough relationships in JF to go around.
Thanks for the input, folks--I'll try to keep any Luv Stories short so I don't wear out the charm.
Yes, Imp has been with JF since the beginning, and probably still has nightmares about the refrigerator that started it all. Too bad the character I designed after her belongs in Wax Rhapsodic, or you'd have met her by now.
I'm glad Aleoi's happy.
I also find tall women attractive, so I guess I'm lucky Joey's even with me at six feet. Easy to make eye contact that way. Tomboys are also mega-cool.
And to continue the stringing-along, there is someone for Jackie. I just won't say who. To further annoy you, I'll say there are also people for Ada, Caryn, Victor & Shannon, but I won't tell you who, when, where or if I've even introduced them yet.
MUH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!!
------------------

You're both right: it depends on the shoes Ada's wearing.
Joey and I decided that even though Tonja and Ada are technically the same height, Tonja just has to look more impressive (that and the bigger head/slimmer body JF characters needed to match the TS characters a little to not look odd). Tonja ended up being a few inches taller than Ada.
I'm no good at keeping continuity going. I'm sure everybody's height will fluxuate in the future--but as long as I draw them proportionally (Jackie half a head shorter than Ada, etc) I'll be happy.
Imp: Call me anything you like, as long as it's not profane. I'll see if I can get Kitty posted ...probably here in the forum, since it'll be easier.
------------------

I guess tall women must be pretty cool. Always wanted to be one. So I end up only reaching 5'5" instead. Hey, how tall is Jackie?.
Zodo, thanks for not leaving us short women out.
BJ (will never get used to calling you that), as far as my alter-ego goes...
*KOFFKOFF*GALLERY*KOFFKOFF*
...'scuse me.
--Imp (who would be tall if she had her alter-ego's wheels)

Jackie's about 5'4" or so, according to what I know. =)
Course, I'm not sure if the JF-Caryn will actually be 5'11" or not. She'd end up towering over just about everyone in the strip! Which may not be a bad thing... >=) "Fear me, little people! Mua ha ha!"
But yes, all women rule. Tall ones are just superior. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gi ... ychoBlonde

Nah, Caryn won't tower over everyone.
Jackie is 5'4".
Ada is 5'11".
Lou is 6'.
JoBeth is about the same height as Jackie, maybe 5'5". 5'9" if you count the bangs.
Gin is about 3'.
Bippy is about 5'6".
The first 3 are actual quotes from BJ in his annotations. The rest I guessed at from seeing relative heights.
Tonja is about 5'11" in the cast lineup, but seems to be about 3 or 4 inches taller than Ada in the crossover... Then again, Ada is a lot closer to Jackie's height there, so she might be slouching.
-Zodo

Actually, BJ's notes indicate that Ada is 5'8.5" or so, not 5'11". =)
And yeah, Lou's tall. Tonja is tall, too. Could have a 'tall girls vs short girls' JF volleyball game. =)
-PsychoBlonde

Really? Where?
The notes I read, here, say Ada is 5'10" (so I was off too, but closer. ).
BJ! Caryn won't stop arguing with me!
-Zodo

Bleah, I messed up the link tag in my previous post. It's fixed now.
Well, it looks like we have a continuity error. Time for BJ to come in and say which one of us is right.
(it'll be me of course. )
*steals Caryn's lolly*
-Zodo

No, no, no. I'm right. I don't think Ada's half a foot taller than Jackie. She's never been drawn that tall in comparison. =)
We'll just have to wait for BJ to say. And he'll say I'M right.
