Especially in a strip where they so rarely break the "fourth wall", that deadpan look out at us is particularly funny.
I did think it was kind of mean for Jackie to say that to Gin, however... It's been well established that one of Gin's Pastimes is reading comics. She's 4. She should be enjoying life. Soon she'll be starting nearly two decades of school, followed by four decades of work. Get your fun in while you can.
-Zodo

I think they're looking at me. Although, I guess a more appropriate question would be why I waste my time DRAWING comics. Woot.
------------------

Ditto on the deadpan look - great touch. ( I believe I heard a "gotcha" immediately afterwards.)
I really love gin's hair too.

The reason that they're looking at us is simple.
To them, *WE'RE* the comic strip. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, they watch the adventures of BJ, jackiesfridge, Shannon, zodo, John T, Poe, Psychoblonde and the rest of the wacky crowd.
To them, it's called "BJ's Strip." The big difference between "Jackie's Fridge" and "BJ's Strip" is that, over on this end, we've a phalanx of Alka-Seltzer Men. ^_^

Thanks, guys. I was worried about that one. I enjoy fourth wall jokes, but I don't use them in JF because it's not the right kind of strip (unlike Framed, which is a fourth wall STRIP). I figured I could loosen up a bit for this crossover, and I'm glad you don't mind.
Zodo: Not even Jackie can come between Gin and her comics. Joey told me every artist has a character who's an artist. Mine's Gin.
John: If you ever figure out why we do this, let me know.
gplover: Thanks! Try drawing her hair sometime. <IMG SRC="

Don't forget Lou. She's an artist too, though she seems to have lost her Muse... Maybe her muse is coming back to her, via Gin. <IMG SRC="

Actually, Lou won't be doing much drawing, so I just count Gin. Lou has found a different muse--I'll let you hang in susupense for a while, at least until I figure out what it is. <IMG SRC="
