Gin's extreme politeness is neat. It's too bad more kids nowadays are like that. (had a kid, maybe 5 or 6 years old, come up to me in the laundromat a couple weeks ago out of the blue, and asked me if I had any money to give him. I told him I had just enough to do my own laundry, and he pointed at the pile of quarters in my pocket and asked what that was. I told him it was my laundry money... Then he tried to reach into my pocket and get it. I just don't get kids these days.
Good lord, I just gave a 'kids these days' rant. ack. Pass the metamucil.)
Ahem. Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, Gin. I think it's neat how she calls Jackie "Miss T", as any adult would stumble over Jackie's last name, much less a 4 year old. Heck, Even Jackie hasn't said it herself since the first week of strips...
On a totally unrelated note, I got my JoBeth and Tonja Steele shirs in the mail today! Yay! T-Shirts! I woulda gotten a JF T-shirt too, but there aren't any for sale. =Sulk=
Everybody should get themselves a T-shirt!
-Zodo

*blink*blink*
You bought shirts?! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!
I have a JF design (simple, but still...); I just have to figure out how to get the background to work. It's nothing big or complex, but I'll see what I can do.
Myself, I'm always impressed by the polite kids, just because I've had to deal with variations on your change-grubbing friend. I wanted Gin to be a knock-your-socks-off kind of kid. She's bright. She's polite. She has lavendar hair. Everything you'd want in a little girl!
And I figured the cooler she was, the more people would hate her parents for treating her the way they do. Shameless heartstring plucking by yours truly.
And. The closest I can come to a pronunciation for Jackie's last name (Toussant--I've changed the spelling once again!) is "Too-sohn". Not that accurate, but it'll give you an idea--it's not as difficult to pronounce as it appears in print (you barely barely pronounce that "n"). Maybe some day when it's not one in the morning I'll figure out a better one.
------------------

Funny thing about the T-Shirts. They arrived on Monday, at around 9:50 am.
At around 4 pm, I got a note from CafePress, saying that they'd just been sent.
Who woulda thought that Priority mail outsourced to Tardis Express (when it absolutely positively has to be there yesterday)?
One of my periodic rants is how one of America's major problems is a lack of parental responsibility. Parents are always willing to blame all sorts of things that influence their kids, yet never consider that the kids might be different if they weren't left with the TV as a babysitter.
-Zodo

Quoted "...outsourced to Tardis Express (when it absolutely positively has to be there yesterday)?"
I thought it was supposed to be "....there before you even send it.", but I appreciate the reference. Most people these days have never even heard of the good Doctor (tho when in MN in January I did see some re-runs on their PBS station. Wish mine still showed it). Perhaps SF channel will pick it up.)

About 7 years ago, my local K-Mart of all places had real Jelly-Babies on the shelves, imported from an Irish candy company. I bought 'em all, and was in heaven until my stockpile ran out. Those things are tasty!
Of course, K-Mart never reordered.
I keep waiting for someone to make a "WWSJD?" bumper sticker (What Would Sarah Jane Do), but no dice. siiiigh
