Well, this shows that the whole crash in the bathroom wasn't intentional on Brandy's part. As BJ said, she respects Melissa's privacy on the depression issue. I suspected when he said that, that she hadn't meant to make the mess. That Argh! we got from her last week was legit.
I did just wonder... If Melissa's depression is chemical, wouldn't it be likely that the same chemical imbalance is in her twin sister?
-Zodo

I haven't done enough research to know if the chemical imbalance is always there, or it's triggered just as the symptoms of depression are triggered, which is by some highly stressful event in someone's life.
Different people react differently to their own depression too. In Wisconsin, depression is mostly misunderstood by the lay person. Most people think its something you should be able to "just snap out of", so those suffering from it tend to cover it up in various ways and often don't seek treatment until the symptoms are very serious indeed.
--Chris (glad to be out of Wisconsin)

Isn't that why a whole lot of people tell you to "just get over it"?
------------------

I just got through reading the archives with annotations. Interesting how BJ thinks about things.
I looked at the one where Brandy is lying on the couch thinking on the situation, and ends up in tears at the end, and realized that this could be a depressive swing for her.
One other thing I realized in today's strip, as someone who used to have contacts. You usually don't leave the case open, except when you're putting in, or taking out the contact. We can't see it because the strips aren't colored yet, but I'm wondering if Brandy's eyes are one light, one dark blue right now.
This makes me wonder if BJ was intending to keep these black and white, to keep us in suspense.
-Zodo

You should've SEEN the hand that came out of my mind--and I'm so glad you didn't. It looked like a diseased squid.
I actually sketched my own hand for that one, but I had to sketch my LEFT hand and mirror it on the paper...since I'm right-handed. And I was actually holding my eraser, not a contact-lens case.

Well, Friday's strip is up in color, and it seems that Brandy's eyes are both pale. Looks like she managed to get both contacts in.
Now we just gotta see how Shannon is going to react.
By the way, BJ, that's a really good job on the hand in the fourth panel of Monday's strip. Did you just do a sketch of your own hand holding a contact lens case, or did you pull that straight out of your mind?
-Zodo
