Shannon's ray-traced Fridge looked lonely, so I took the liberty of asking Jackie to keep Duh-'Fridge company.
Jackie realized this would be an excellent opportunity to plug JF, and by her request, the URL and catch-phrase were added.
The advertisement is currently on display at <a href="http://www.reactor-core.org/~tgweeks/ja ...

Note to B.J.: Jackie's eyes are green, right? ^_-

Tom, that's amazing cool! You ROCK!
Two bits of info: I do make a conscious effort not to put my characters into "stock" kawaii poses. It would be fun, but it doesn't usually fit with the strip. So it's pretty cool to see Jackie in one of the poses.
And Jackie's eyes are brown.
I'm gonna hafta tell Shannon to add this to the fan art gallery! Thanks!

Thanks! ^_^

I realised I had never seen Jackie in the stereotypical anime girl poses (wink w/little heart, V for victory, salute, index-finger-o-chutzpah, etc.), and since it was only a matter of time before somebody drew it, I thought I'd get one in before it was too late.

*blush blush* *^^* ah-arigato! m(_)m

Two bits of info: I do make a conscious effort not to put my characters into "stock" kawaii poses. It would be fun, but it doesn't usually fit with the strip.
You once said:
'When I draw my characters, I try to picture them in motion, then mentally freeze a pose somewhere in the middle of an action. I try to figure out how their body weight shifts, how limbs and gestures follow through and how the body bends and twists. I've managed to fool myself into believing that it gives the figures more of an "animated" flow and keeps them dynamic and fun to look at.'

You are not fooling yourself--it really works! My favorite examples are the juggling strips (from whence that quote comes).

And Jackie's eyes are brown.
D'oh! I hope I got her hair right...

In the interests of future (color) fanarts from whoever may be interested (and also in the interest of testing you--HAS BJ considered eye colors in his comic, even though it's in B&W? ^^): What are the other characters' eye colors?
I'm gonna hafta tell Shannon to add this to the fan art gallery! Thanks!
You are welcome! It is an honor to contribute. m(_)m Your comic has given me so much and asked for so little, it seemed like the right thing to do.

I said that? But it actually makes sense! Hmmmm.... I don't remember ever making sense...
I try not to ask for anything (that's why Shannon's such a great promoter/webmaster--he knows how to do it), and I never expect anything--that way it's all a pleasant surprise!
And finally:
Jackie - brown
Ada - brown
Melissa - pale pale blue
Brandy - hazel
Shannon - brown
Gin - not sure yet; maybe the green you used for Jackie
Lou - hazel
Bippy (not JoBeth; she's her own character) - blue
Teagan - cold blue
Now let's see if I can stay consistent!

Ack'chally, Lou and Bippy are gonna show up on Friday, now - when I'd made the announcement earlier in the month, we hadn't planned on running a Christmas strip. But then BJ came up with one we just HAD to run, and so we bumped the impending storylines back an update. So, Wednesday's strip will be the 'Speaking Japanese' strip (FINALLY!), and then Friday will start the Bitchin' Kitchen string. BE THERE!
-Shannon

Hrm. With everybody else turning in their fan art, I'm just going to have to draw up that JF strip i've been having boiling in my head for the past few days.
12 hour road trips do wonders for your creative juices, as those white lines on the road blur together... and I had two of them in the past week!
I'll let you know when i have it done, BJ and Shannon, so you can look at it, and decide if you want to include it as a guest strip, or on the gallery page, or if I should make sure to not quit my day job. (most likely the latter)
-Zodo
