..and uhh.. Harlequin Valentine is a brilliant little tale by Neil Gaiman with drop-dead gorgeous illustrations.

I thought Harlequin first appeared in Italy in Commedia del'Arte. And he wasn't dressed in diamonds, either - just patches on his clothes. His name was Arlechinno, just in case you wanted to know that too...
