Yes, it probably was. I have this habit of confusing Athena, Aphrodite and Artemis that would probably get me cursed badly in Greece...

Naked Gods

Post by Alison »

Well, as this happened a couple years ago, and I haven't been turned into anything freaky...
To end the suspense, it was in a play he was doing. Lenny, actually, if any of you know it. There was a truely hysterical scene which invloved a Cardinal's outfit... but I digress.

And to whoever said it, yes, Neil Gaiman is God too. My concept of God has many facets, most of whom seem to be middle-aged Englishmen for some reason.

I'm a catholic school girl! :prances in her pleated plaid skirt that she hates: I'm proud now--even though I hate my school...There is a really great song by The Red Hot Chili Peppers called 'Catholic School Girls Rock'. Just though I'd spread the RHCP love.
Yeah, I guess you could all tell I'm Catholic, though there are some things in my religion I don't agree with...and I am the least homophobic straight person you'll ever meet. This is the kid who's addicted to QAF, remember!

PhyrByrd--that's my favorite Artemis story. I did a term paper on it.

Guess what Zan? My boi-thing looks exactly like a living version of your comics. He has the whole long face, angular features thing going on. It's very cool.

Speaking of the Chilis, I need to ask a question that has been eating me...anyone else think that Anthony Kedis just *has* to be bi? I mean, in every picture he's in with Dave Navarro, they're either making out or doing the whole mutual toe-sucking thing. And it's not just Dave either...am I the only one who notices this?

yeah, just had to ask that. carry on!

PS, Zan, you applying to Mass Art?? You better! Then I can bug you non-stop!

MY favourite Greek legend is Hyacinthus and Apollo, closely followed by Zeus and Ganymede, then Eros and Psyche. I'm just a hopeless romantic, really...

I do love Hyacinthus and Apollo as well...but I'm fairly new to it, I hadn't heard it before Zan shed the light upon me...though I did know about the Greek army's interesting perpendiculars to todays army...

Are you ONLY talking about the Spartans or were the rest just as interesting? I love Greek history and myth, so please spill it....

Ah, the Sacred Band of Thebes... Otherwise known as "Men fight with more bravery and nobleness when they fight beside their lovers, for who would let himself be shamed in his lover's eyes? So pick a partner, men, and fight for love and glory!"

*sighs* I wish I was a man in ancient Greece. Fighting and sleeping with other men!? I mean, come on, how good does it get?

Unfortunately, I'm female, and Zan is ALSO turning me straight. *glares* We need some lesbians. (Wow, that was a shockingly banal and masculine comment).

And on mono/polytheism: props to we-of-multiple-deities. And all hail Izzard-sama.

I do believe the greeks did it as well...The Romans did the same thing (yeah, they *always* copied the Greeks), favored homosexuals in the Roman Legions...they said the solgiers would fight harder to impress their lovers.
