Do you actually work, little forum?

Here's hoping you stay like this without destroying Keenserver. Still, I think I'll keep the backup forum on the main page too. Just gotta take some some exams first.

Yes! Thanks to the magic of avatars, we can see how one another ACTUALLY LOOKS.

I don't like the facial expessions, though. They bring too many flashbacks of my days working for Wal-mart. At least they could put up some with people drinking and smoking pot, like on the Hitchhiker's Guide website!

Is it just me or does every Wal-Mart smell like puke and cheap plastic?

Yeah man. You could blindfold me and plug my ears, and I'd still be able to tell you when we're in a Wal-mart or not, just because of the smell. It's distinct from that of Target or K-Mart or the mall, or what have you.

But it has a different smell when the scary overnight stockers work.

Mall smell?

Is there such a thing as "mall smell"?

I know that certain places have distinct smells, like Wal-Mart, fast food restaurants, and abbatoirs, but I think malls are each distinctive in their odor.

Some are carpeted, for example. That really changes things.

I find that with nice malls, they have a slight "mall smell", but only if you concentrate on it.
On the other hand, some grubbier, less appealing malls have a distinctive stink you could detect way out in the parking lot with a geiger counter.
Heh, what I like is that little smell detector device they have in some deodorant commercials...they run it over the armpits of a shirt, and if there's stink it beeps and lights up red.
If that fell into the wrong hands...well, nothing really BAD would happen, but it might be funny.

They were working on a real-life "bad breath" detector way back, but it wasn't refined enough to determine "bad" from "really strong," so if you had a mint, it would still go off.

A truly evil man could probably use the scent detector in a Speed-like scenario:

"There's a bomb in the kitchen! If the [curry/garlic/tomato] scent drops too low, it'll explode!"

heh, I always thought that super-smell would be the worst power to have. I wonder if Superman has that but just never wants to use it.

I dunno.

I have no idea. You'd think some of his smellier opponents would have gotten a response out of him if he did.
