Tina's Fighting Stance

Does Tina's fighting stance exist?

Well, to the best of my knowledge, maybe.

Back when I took Tai Chi (before I learned it was tougher than Yoga), I learned a stance in the Simplified Yang 24 that looks a lot like what Tina is doing. I believe it's called "Golden Rooster Stands on One Foot."

Generally, though, they make it up in kung fu movies, too, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Actually, if you're looking for improbable martial arts forms, you should check out the young Wong Fei-Hong in Iron Monkey, who in one scene is just naming forms as he makes them up as far as I can tell.

Not to mention the fight with the umbrella that's just like the one in the first Once Upon a Time in China. No matter what they say about folding chairs in God of Cookery, folding chairs and umbrellas are not standard weapons in northern or southern kung fu.

That's covered by its own martial art, described in this site for an organization founded by an old college buddy of my uncle. Close enough, anyway.
