12/20 Strip

Post by ZOMBIE USER 8290 »

I can't WAIT for the hiz-rez version of this strip to appear at Mako's site. Jenny with pig-tails? Very cute. :D Zig Zag with short hair? Interesting change.

Leona and Tiffany: sexy beasts, bar none. I have a feeling I should know where Tiff's outfit came from but I can't put my finger on it...

It looks like Sabrina's glasses are computerized like Jenny's. Surely they're running Amiga.

Great stuff all around!

I just hope that they don't get caught in suspended animation until the 25th century :D

And the guess is "Anthony".
Oh! you want his nickname.

"ZigZag with short hair...?"

Aieee! Oversight on my part. Sorry 'bout that. :(
As I mentioned, things were a bit rushed after the original
file got corrupted.

The high res version is on the backup site.
http://home.satx.rr.com/techfox/index.html

On the high res image, it's a bit clearer that Sabrina's sending
e-mail to someone. (Chris or RC, depending on your preference. :) )

Anthony Rogers? Huh! I didn't know his real name! :)
This is of course a reference to the old film "A Buck Called Rogers" ;)

That's okay, Scott, I actually liked her short-hair look. (Of course, I like her long-haired look, too, but that's for another post  ) It gives more of a sense of "ZigZag as cultural icon," like Ronald McDonald; many looks, one ZigZag.

Well, it does represent a problem, because in a few strips she'll
have long hair again. :o

And, all I can say is "Ooops!"

Twisty....very twisty....

Another major cross-linking? Is this just random silliness, or another plot twist?

(I didn't think Jenny would get to Jack that quickly, but this...was unexpected...)

Um, you may lose that finger, if not your whole arm....Beware what (and who!) you touch!

Don't feel bad about Zig's hair, Scott! Major movie producers have an entire staff to worry about continuity between scenes! (Although, what IS with Jenny's pigtails? And are they called "pig tails" in a furry universe???)

Yeah, okay, that presents a problem.

I can sympathize with you, though. If you start reading FCE at this strip, where Yerzle gets whacked in the left hand, you'll notice that in the next few strips his injured hand changes from the left to the right and back to the left. I cringed when I realized what I'd done.

But, that's all water under the bridge. Think no more of it!

We forgive you!

Perhaps ZZ had her hair cut for a role and will be in need of hair extensions for her next role...

Scott, you're forgetting about your artistic license. :)

Hortmage: good advice. *Looks at his fingers* Can't afford to tick off a seven-foot tall tigress, can I? :D

That would make a great ZZ anniversary poster: have all the many ZZ incarnations in one row at the top with the line "Many looks..." and have the Max Blackrabbit version at the bottom with the tag line "one ZigZag."

I think I've found out, but I've got access to some of Scott's comments that the majority of you don't. On the other hand, it could be simply because she'll be wearing earphones; Wilma Deering there has her hair braided, as well.

And they still botch it sometimes! (there is an example from Die another Day) but I'm sure you can find hundreds....

If one decided to look.

Actually, my worst gaffe is:

http://techfox.keenspace.com/d/20010327.html

Where Jack says he'll risk holding a road flare in his left hand, rather
than ruin the Thunderbird's paint, but I drew him holding it in his right.

Crossing Over

Post by ZOMBIE USER 10430 »

Well, this gives a definitive answer as to how Zig Zag could be in a feelie. Of course, we should have remembered a previous cross-over involving Comfort and Dover (during the 'cane). Doh! How did we miss that one?

The way it reads to me, he is thinking that he is left handed and that is why he is using his right hand.

Maybe I see it that way because I'm left handed.

After taking a second look, I'd say that Tiffany's outfit looks like Leetah's original in ElfQuest. But it's hard to be sure without seeing the bottom half.

In an interesting and perhaps appropriate cross-species mix-up, the following site lists Wilma Deering as the "Fox of the Week!" in the Online Comics Business website.

Hee! It's not easy finding photos of the that old TV show. :)

The subject matter of today's strip makes a wonderful Christmas present. :o :D :o :D :o :D

Although, with that punch-line, shouldn't there be another wolf involved?

Almost anything in Freefall should involve Florence.
Even if Helix-vision might interfere. 8)

.
.
It seems to me that the line about the 'free fall lingere show' is the punch line. Drezzer's comment about the brassiere company seems to be an anticlimax; it's relevant, it brings a giggle of its own, but it doesn't have the impact of the previous line.
That's enough for now of my thoughts on the 'theory and structure of humor'. Not like I'm an expert or anything :)

Florence is a truely remarkable and exciting woman. However,
modelling a bra is probably not one of her strongest points.

Well, I have to admit, it's much more subtle humor than the setup line.
You have to think about it, and ask yourself a question like:
"Why would a company that makes bras be interested in photographing
models in zero gravity?" :o
