2000 is pretty tight now. XP is however just a mess waiting to happen, too many buggy new features. NT was stable, but bad for laptops. 95 was better than 3.1 but unstable as hell, 98 was really the patch for 95. The last couple of versions of 95 could at least run for short stretches of time without crashing though. Updating drivers for everything helps alot.
2000 is a combination of ME, CE and NT, right?

That would make it Windows CeMeNT.

Right?

Yeah, I'm still here. So what's this? I must say, I am actually quite curious about what that guy could possibly have considered offensive in Faux Pas... That guy has quite a lot of imagination I guess. He should use it better though. As for the voting... well, I do not check the faux pas website often. Just check the comic three times a week. But as far as I understand they are not that crazy about voting an all, so I think they can live with it. Still a shame though.
HugoFuchs wrote: On another note; I've also been putting in votes for Nip and Tuck and Vicki Fox ... Hey, gotta keep the foxes on the board. 8)

Current Fox standings:
1st = 21st Century Fox
2nd = Nip and Tuck
7th = Faux Pas
8th = World of Vicki Fox.
As for this... Well, I will not argue about the order of the comics... But I do feel you are forgetting some: Albion Fuzz, Fuzzy things, and Ozy and Millie (duh). I am sure there are more, but these are the ones I know off :)

True. but the artists must enroll in the program. There are a ton of cool clean comics out there, AF et. al.

Yeah, true. In fact, I have stopped looking. I was afraid just checking the dayly updates of every comic would take too much of my time... And then there's the archives. Whenever you find a new one, that can take hours to finish!

Okay, how is Paux Pas getting votes anyway? I want to vote for them daily, but I can't even find the voting button anymore. I've scoured the site and it's just gone. So now I want to know how they get more votes a day without even having a voting button...?

I think it was Olick(?) who determined that

http://www.agucho.com/topcleancomics/vo ... ID=ozfoxes

Will still allow you to vote for FP. FP's account on the server is still live, the Carspecken's have just pulled the link off the FP page is all.

Some of the dedicated FP fans are doing exactly that...

So after voting for 21C Fox, click the back button on your browser and replace "techfox" with "ozfoxes" in the adress bar, hit enter then click the confirm my vote button.

Note from the OzFoxes

Post by Kellogg »

Umm... Folks...

I just got a note from the OzFoxes, wondering where the votes
were coming from...

} Also, a quick question about Top Clean Comics: we got a question
}from someone who said the vote count for Faux Pas is going up, even
}though we've disabled voting from our site. Is someone on your 21CF
}forum responsible for this, by any chance? If so, we might ask that
}they stop; some people REALLY care about the rankings and we don't,
}but this "stuffing the ballot box" does not help anything - even if
}it's well-intended (as we're sure it is)....
}
} If you don't know anything about it, then never mind. :)

I feel bad, 'cause I was using that link to vote for them too,
though, I kinda suspected that they really didn't want votes. :(

Since OzFoxes requested we stop voting for them what do you say we start voting for Vicki Fox?

Cute critters, a good story and the lead character is a real fox. :wink:

First, I'm not cheating, I'm just voting for a comic, I also vote for others.

Second, I'm partly doing it to cheese off whoever it was that sent them such a nasty letter, in fact we'd all like to know what the email address was.

Last, While I won't push for number 1, I will keep it in the top 10, and hey, I'm sure alot of people found it through the Top Clean Comics board.

Hi Hugo,

Believe me, I'm not trying to tell anyone that it's cheating.
I agree with all your reasons! I want to vote for 'em too.

I'm not telling anyone what they should or shouldn't do.
But they did ask, and I don't want to upset them by
going against their wishes, so I'm stopping. :-?

Sigh,

I also have been voting once a day for FP, firstly b/c it's been *really* exceptionally excellent this month (mare reed Ha! :) and also to make a point to the dweeb, who got my Illigitimati Non Carborundum up.

I will of course comply with the Carspeken's implied request but I do feel families from all over the world will be missing out on a wonderful heartfelt strip if FP falls off the list, which is a sad thing.

I've been alternating my daily votes between 21CF and FP ever since FP started dropping through the rankings. Looks like I go 100% 21CF now. That hate mail sent to Ozfoxes has ruined the fun aspect of voting ("They're a point ahead! Waah!") and I'm not finding it fun any more.

The Top Clean Comics board has been spoiled.

batty

...there were a pair of flying-foxes in the first Harry Potter movie. I wonder if they cam from the Carspeken's barn. And that barn has got have a colony of bats (brown bats or evening bats) in the rafters.

I wrote the email to Faux Pax asking how to viote for them. I wrote the email from another email account without even thinking that they wouldn't know my screen name, and I wasn't trying to hide who I was. I genuinely think they are among the finest strips online, and I want to vote for them. I was only asking how to do this--their vote count was increasing (they've actually surpassed my own strip!), yet there is no voting button anywhere on their site. So it was me who inquired of them about this, not as a critic but as a FAN who genuinely wanted to know how to send them some support.

I don't think Clean Comics is spoiled. Rank means nothing--it's all for fun. I can't figure out how to vote more than once (I've tried and get an "error" page, and my cable line is a static IP so there's no dial-in). But evenif people cast multiple votes, it's really no sweat. Think of it as a friendly tug-of-war with no winning prize anyway.

Then again, maybe I'm easier-going about it all because I don't have any comic income or ads anyway, so I get the same big "zilch" whether I'm first or dead last.

Heh! I know the feeling! The ads on my site all go to support Keenspace
itself. (Not that that's a bad deal for free webspace.)

My "income" is in notes from readers! :D
