Please don't feel bummed out, all this crusty musty ancient history is being dug up by an ornery old war goat is all.

It is however proper for everyone to have a sense of what has happened before so you can help others to avoid repeating the same mistakes again, but don't let that history bog you down any.

The commercialization of the 'net brought a lot of goodness with it; it wasn't all bad certainly, even if the core values and goals of the .com crowd were significantlydifferent than those the .edu inventors had.

I think you could boil all my babble down to "Instead of netizens, we are all now, for better or worse, users". A significant paradigm shift indeed.

Me three. :cry:

I am too young to have experienced the old days as well, but even so... I find myself wantimg them back.

I'd rather be a netizen (it's been a long time since I've heard that term) than a user anyday.
