One Holiday special strip for tomorrow.

As you all might guess, I happen to like this country. A Lot. And the
neatest thing I've found is that you don't have to be an American to like
it. I've had the pleasure of working with a lot of really nice folks from
other countries. Of those I got to know, they were all very happy to be
here.

That's something to remember when it sometimes seems like we don't
have friends.

So, I hope that everyone has a Happy 4th of July tomorrow.
No matter where you are in the world, or what your nationality.

Or at least a happy fourth of July for anyone not celebrating U.S. Independence, which might be most people except for Americans (for obvious reasons) and the British (who haven't had to deal with us nearly as much for the past 200-odd years ).

Last night, while I was watching fireworks, one of the gentlemen seated in front of me--almost certainly not born in the United States--was happily chanting "USA!" at random and enthusiastic intervals. Nice to know he appreciates being here.

I live in a city which is populated with refugees from all over Eastern Europe now. It's a good feeling to know that the USofA is still a safe place for them.

It's also interesting when I deliver pizzas to Ukranian members of the Russian Mafia.

We have a high population of people from former Soviets, as well as many, many Bosnian refugees.

It's cool to see that democracy is making the US safe for the world.
