Well, MM was made to be quite different from OoT, more of an exotic kinda feel to it. This is one of the things I like about it, the added wierdness/coolness to it. They made it so it would have the feel and look of OoT, but with a lot of new stuff as well...

Just what don't you like about it? (just curious)

:o That IS hard to figure out... (hey, I've only seen ONE example on binary...)

Here's a piece of trivia

Post by Ryunaker »

What does the number 1111110011100010 represent?

This does have an answer, but you'll have to really dig for it.

well the original quotation on the binary thing can be found here.

I just felt it was unneccessary to put up the whole thing in a sig...oddly enough, I have this in my sig on a number of boards, and noone else seems to have commented on it...either they all get it or they all don't...>_<

That's a start, erickei, but 64738 has more significance than just the number. I wasn't just looking for a number.
I dunno if you'll be able to find the significance anymore, though. :| It may be too old-school.

I was gonna say it probably means something like the upper memory limit in Hex, but the hex value is FCE2...isn't that the name of a N64 or GC emulator? "FCE", I mean?

I've been into computers since I was a little kid (20+ years now), but have only been able to pursue my interest in earnest in the past year or 3...

This is an important value to an old computer. There's a hint.
It's FCE2 out of up to FFFF memory available.

Wait a second...I used to have a commodore 64...it went the way of the dodo looooong ago, but I still play M.U.L.E. on emulators...good ol' 64k memory limit (or its younger cousin, the 124k limit).......am I even close?

-_-;>

It's one digit too short to be the 640k limit on conventional RAM in DOS...I used to be a master at squeezing stuff into himem when I still had a copy of 6.22 floating around...wish I could find my old boot floppy, one of my setups even had over 600k free with all my device drivers loaded o_O still dunno how I pulled it off tho...

Commodore 64

Post by Jika »

I had a Commodore 64 when I was little. But it seemed to mysteriously kick the bucket and I forgot where it went after that. I also once had another BASIC computer, but the screen mysteriously kicked the bucket, and we didn't have the adapter to plug it into the TV, so it dissapeared too...

nah, sorry ryu, I played on the c64, but didn't program on it, sorry -_-;>

I used a QuickLoad cart, so my idea of a reboot was this little switch on the keyboard...::has this sudden urge to play Raid Over Moscow::

I programmed in a bit of BASIC on my trash-80cc tho.

Now I program in VB and C++, as I'm nearly done with a CIS degree ^_^

I program in VB, VC++, VC#, and already have a BS in Software Development. They can't call it Software Engineering here until it's the Masters level.

:o Erg. Programming. I understand very little of the jargon. I understood the Sig, but that's about it. The rest? Whooosh! Right over my head!

Hehehehe Here's a hand: VB = Visual Basic, VC++ = Visual C++, VC# = Visual C#. 3 programming languages & environments (although VC++ is not a different language from C++, which predates Microsoft) released by Microsoft.

So what does this have to do with pixies? Unless pixies are the majority of programmers! Under a treaty spell! Yeah! That explains why they never eat! XD

Um...er,....ya see, there are these things on the screen called "pixels", they were originally called "pixies" but they had to change the name so Oberon wouldn't come ofter us...
Unless pixies are the majority of programmers!
They've found us out!

Ryu: C# is technically a different language that "just happens to" have an awful lot in common (90%+) with C++. MSoft no longer has the rights to C++, so they had to "make" (yeah right) a "new" language. btw I'd like to learn more about .NET ...then again, I'd like someone to give me a copy of Visual Studio .NET...its CLR (common-language runtime) model makes it possible to combine all sorts of supported languages into a single executable file (eg, you could write a user interface in VB.net, do the behind-the-scenes coding in C#, and incorporate an old ASP database access routine, and it can all compile into a single EXE for distribution).

Heh. yer still farther than me. I have a BA in English, and will soon have an AS in CIS (comp info systems). I'm planning to go for my MCSD (MS Certified Solutions Developer) once I have some more experience under my belt, tho. I'm at about the level of an entry-level Systems Analyst right now.
