Darn it, it's hard choosing between the characters.
(on a side note, Dapple, you have Jen and Jennifer and they are the same character)
Dapple asked me to give a description of Ryan for him I might as well cover all of them at least briefly (it's actually rather lucky I have my USB drive with me with a copy of all my files)
I'll do Ryan first. when I envision Ryan, he's wearing a green cloak, (probably a light shirt and pants underneath for those wondering) he also carries his staff though he isn't too attatched to any one in particular and in the course of his schooling he's changed staffs more often then Galdalf in LOTR, weather it's made of wood or not I guess is up to the individual. he also has a mage's hat that he bought, not being a full fledged mage (yet) he hasn't totally earned it. the most striking thing about the hat is it has no less then two patches and at least one good sized nick in it's brim, with a few others sewn back together in stitching. the hat, though of the same color, was obviously not sold with the cloak.
Jen, she wears a pair of rusty red overalls (they aren't rust stained, she did that on purpose to hide any stains they might get in them, can't stain what already looks dirty) and a rust stained white shirt underneath, she's washed the shirt but some stains just don't want to come out without something that's industrial strength. she also has a cap (and I think it'd look right to have some goggles with the cap, it just sort of fits) and her hammer. I don't know how to give the proportions in rac-cona measurements (I'd probably get it wrong) but it's very much like a short handled sledgehammer, capable of large strong swings but not incapable of precision or deft ones.
Sam, Sam wears a rough stained set of a shirt and trowsers. he also has a yellowish cap and (if he's in the tumbledowns) a purple bandanna. unless it's supposed to be more 'up to date' he'd be wearing his new bright red cloak with yellow trim and matching hat (both fire retardant) but what ever he's wearing he'll have his glimmer rope somewhere handy
James, well, James pretty much wears a shirt and trowsers, hte trowsers are tied at the end of each leg as though they were elastic. James will also usually be wearing his faded (very faded) blue hooded jacket, the jacket is so faded it's mostly gray by now and may have a patch or two in it. James also has his boots which are a turquoise when set to repel and are a indigo when set to stick, they are also turquoise when innert. and then James will have Shiver with him, shiver is a deep blue color and darker when low on lux. as a personal thing I also had it where James has a white shock of hair on his head, although he sometimes hides it so putting it there would be optional.
Irvine, I never really imagined what Irvine was wearing, it's never really been necessary to do so, I'd say he wears a drink stained apron in front of a (mostly) clean shirt and trowsers. I've never imagined Irvine wearing a hat except in bad weather. as typical with a bartender he's usually got a towl stuffed into his belt for cleaning out glasses so they don't get too stained from having drinks settle inside of them. Irvine is probably about 75 (out of 250) years old.
not too sure yet about what Johan and Maria ahve, but I'll get to that some day. I do hope this helps some,
oh, yeah, sizes. umm, Ryan is the tallest, Irvine, Jen and James are about the same height under Ryan, Sam is a tad shorter then them (half a head at shorter then Ryan at most)
