I wonder if Ralph considered making Sam a goblin. One might make an interesting companion to Q, and their false reputation as friends of vampires might have resulteed in one being lynched by a village. I am sorry I did not think of it before Sam was revealed to be a halfling. They are quite beautiful bat like people with supernally beautiful voices, and can now be found widely if rarely in the human world, especially males (this from the CD...I like the goblins, hope to see one at least in passing). As always, there is more about them on the CD, I advise buying these heartily.
