Another "victory" for environmentalism?

Post by Jwrebholz »

The whackjobs from the People's Republic of California strike another blow against progress.

I personally think this problem would have been more aptly solved by a couple guys by the names of Smith and Wesson. ..Oh wait, this is California..it's easier to get a (BLEEP) than it is to get a handgun.

Hmmm... To bad the article said nothing about the nature of the work being done or any actual harm caused to the ape subjects. Everything in there was quoted from the "anti-research" crowd, and none of their statements were either substantiated or refuted by the author of the article.
It's as though the author had just recorded their claims and rumors, then wrote them down.
Avoid those who speak badly of the people, for such wish to rule over you.

A pity he wasn't living in Florida. Why? Two words: Castle Law.

This has about as much to do with environmentalism as the nutjobs who firebomb abortion clinics have to do with the pro-life movement.

...Let me get this straight... They harass his family to "protect" animals?

I seethe with anger at this affront to civility and to civilization.

Using fear to press their political agenda? We have a word for that: TERRORISM. These people need to be found out and SHOT, not only for their acts, but for the fact that they place more value on ANIMAL lives than they do HUMAN lives.

From what I've seen of eccoterrorism, they haven't killed a bunch of people, but they do enjoy burning things.

The really sad part is it WORKED. You heard it fromt he man himself. "You win. I quit."

Now that they know their tactics work, any future scientist who takes up where he left off can prepare to be even more severely harassed and threatened.

Like I said, this problem could have been solved in a much different and much more effective way..unfortunately that way is illegal in the PRCA..so all he has to do is move to Florida and work for FSU (not as prestigious a school I know, but at least he can continue his research)

FSU actually has some of the more advanced physics programs around, and it's home of the National Magnetics Laboratory.

I could have been worse...

In England they dug up a grave and stole the remains of a farmer's mother or grandmother...

Me?
I'd serve those 'environmentalists' rat-poison flavoured cookies...

Well, I found Ringach's listings: Seems he specializes in the study of visual object recognition in primates. Basically, he takes a macaque (a common lab monkey), shaves its head, glues EEG terminals to the scalp, and examines the data as the monkey is presented with visual input.

That's right: No "kill 30 monkeys a year" nonsense. Looks like the maniacs of PETA are at it again. (Note that I distinguish between the maniacs and the non-maniacs.)

Note also what drove him to stop his research: A colleague, also falsely accused, was targeted with a Molotov Cocktail on their doorstep. Thankfully, the Molotov did not go off when mistakenly placed on the doorstep of the researcher's elderly next-door neighbor.

And then people wonder why I'm not into animal rights... Yeesh!

Yours truly,

The wolfish,

Wanderer

See, whats gets me is that these would not even bat an eye at harming and threatening people and thier children, vandalism, destruction of property, even harassment, kindnapping and many other crimes against humanity, and they would say these excusable methods of 'protecting an animal.' Kick a dog, however, and they are ready to lench you by noon. Apparently, an chimp's life is worth far more to these terrorists than human's.
Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?' John 11: 25-26

Which is why its a pity that he lives in California, and not Florida.

Ecoterrorism doesn't work so well when the scientist grabs his AR-15 and returns fire.
