Hey, I'm Californian myself. It's not nearly as bad as folks think. It's just that nobody's interested in hearing stories about normal people, so you get reports of all the freaks and wierdos. Not that we don't have our fair share of them, but no fair throwing the baby out with the bath, ok?
I'm in the Central Vally, near Sacramento, in a nice li'l college town. Californians do tend to take themselves a *little* too seriously, but on the whole, we're pretty normal.
In any case, enough thread-hijacking. Hope all goes well with ya, and we're eagerly awaiting the next comic(s)

Also living in California...
A native Californian (I guess there are a few) told me that Californians aren't weird; it's just everything loose in the country rolls westward.
I have a T-shirt somewhere with a picture of the Statue of Liberty, rolling her eyes, flanked by palm trees, captioned "Welcome to California. Send us your psychotic, drug-crazed, cult-bent masses."
(It is, alas, too small for me now; I got it about 60 pounds ago.)

My aunt lives in Roseville. (just east of Sacremento) It is beautiful country. Sadly the crazies make the whole state look bad.

Whenever I watch the first Superman movie I cheer for Lex, taking out California and New Jersey. He was doing us a favor.

Take the shirt, put it on a flat-bed scanner, scan it in HIGH resolution, use GIMP or other graphic program to touch it up where required, then get a thermal or inkjet printer to print iron-on copies of it. Apply to a t-shirt of appropriate size.
And there y'go.

Not a bad idea.
On the other hand.....TEXAS!!! WEEEEEEEEEE!
(I live in Kansas now but I love the Lone Star State!")

Kansas doesn't allow you to buy beer on Sundays. That's a holdover from the old times.

That law is quite common in Mexico.

Here they just make it so you can't buy it 'til noon in the county, or 10 AM in the city.
Lord knows what people would want with beer before noon, anyway. O_o

I'm over in Phillips County, Colorado, right on the Kansas/Nebraska/Colorado border.
Hmm.. An RHjr mini-convention in the making?

Hmmm... Before I moved back to Washington State, I lived in Wichita Kansas for about 10 years... Nice people down there, generally speaking. You take a walk along any road, people'd stop and ask if you needed a ride, because they're just decent and generous folk. Out here, anyone asks that, you keep one hand in the pocket where you're hiding your handgun, and say "no thanks!"

If you want weird, Jack Daniel's distillery is in a dry county. (Moore Co.) They can make it but can't drink it there.

To get back on track, any news about how the 2006 CDs are coming along, Ralph?

Well, I
have mine! (And I immediately re-read through the year's worth of GH.)
Some more interesting stuff about the Seven Villages, the origins of the people of Freeman Downs, the Mistwall...
And a complete section of the special images that have been appearing between the comics.
