Gorgeous clouds

From the shading of the clouds, and the position of the sun, behind him, as he reaches the mist wall, it has taken him all day to fly out of the Seven Villages.
His first priority should be to find a good place to land, and set up camp, hopefully, with some means of hiding the ship.

I thought the mistwall was only a few feet thick. The problem is it CLINGS to you if you try to travel though it (with the exceptions of such things as the Quentyns and Ennias Longscript).

It is about a mile thick, I think.
But he took off from Freeman Downs, about an hour after sunrise, flew to Sanctuary City, tailed by the sail wagon all the way, then turned east, reaching the mist wall about an hour before sunset.

No, more like a "Deep Space 9" opening of the wormhole. At least from the exiting side.

Yeah, I agree. Definatly a DS9 feel, especially at the end of the credits going into the wormhole. Very DS9ish.
