Soon as I figure out how to connect and understand what the heck they are talking about with 'clients' and all (and as soon as momand dad get back from vacation so I can ask them if we already have that) I'll see about joining.
chat rooms are so confusing (mostly because I've only ever been on one and that was to ask a question at a college)

If it helps at all, Nightstar appears to have some kind of Java chat client-y thing built into their webpage. Run a search for irc.nightstar.net and you should be able to pull it up. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I should be doing to get onto the channel, but it shouldn't take all thatlong...
EDIT: and so it doesn't. Supply a username and password, and the channel (#QuestorTales in this case), and hit Connect. Go get a drink, then let the fun begin. Handy.

Any port should work. Just keep trying until you get it.

Step 1: Download an
Internet Relay Chat (IRC) client, such as
mIRC. If you're on a Mac, I recommend
X-Chat Aqua.
Step 2: Install and open it.
Step 3: Type in /servchan irc.nightstar.net 6666 #QuestorTales
Rawr.
