How would the Racconnans handle a thaumaturgic titan, a rac who made even the greatest human wonder wizard look puny?

Assuming he was malevolent, with a wooden club in the middle of the night.

Fighting fair may look nice on paper, but it doesn't get you to victory.

On the other hand, if he's all nicey-nice, I would assume they'd shower him with research grants and accolades.

No...

The correct weapon for dealing with out of control Wizards or Sourcerers, is an old sock with a half-brick in it...

As long as you have a spare Rincewind, it'll be a snap. XD

I believe Steven Brust said it best:

"No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style..."

Alternatives include:
...poison in the porridge.
...gas in the garage.
...arrow from afar.
...or anything else that can slip past an evil wizard's defenses.

There are two backup plans:
1) Overwhelm his defenses with so many attacks that enough get through.
2) Isolate her (hey, it could be) by keeping well out of her range of influence. Hopefully.

Or Wormtongue. Take your pick.

(Edit: Or did Wormtongue cut Saruman's throat? All I can remember now is that he came up on him from behind. Same principle then, I suppose.)

all living things either grow or shrink (prosper or die off) so this mage would have to move and get stuff eventually. watching the patterns from afar of the mage's habits can and usually will reveal weaknesses (every suit of armor has it's chinks) that the mage has overlooked.

then you just send in the nukes cause you like watching em burn.

Ask Thanatanous the Mage what interesting little surprises the Rac Conans can cook up for deserving souls.
