As for today being the 25th of May... well, yesterday...

Also my friend's birthday, but I knew something was odd.

First time I heard/saw 2 was at AC04. I walked in partway through his show and had to make due with standing space in the back. AC05, I was seventh row center; as close as I could get without being a sponsor/supersponsor. Gonna see if I can do better this year at AC06.

Now that was a good book. One of the better ones. Of course, all his course books rock, so its kinda hard to distinguish. That one really pllled at the heart strings though.

I like some of 2's stuff, but I will not go to see him if I have to pay extra.

I figure, I already paid for the con, why should I pay extra to see certain parts of it?

Last I heard, you didn't have to pay extra...

...at least, you didn't at Califur 2.

Wha? I never thought I'd see anyone praising 2 the Ranting Gryphon on this forum. He's pretty funny, sure, but he's a flaming liberal. I do believe he stated that he wanted Bush's head on a platter in one of his rants. I like 2 just as much as you do (almost), but I thought I'd get BBQed if I praised him on these forums.

Anyways, I'm also a fan of Discworld novels. I have the first six (The Color of Magic, The Light Fantastic, Equal Rites, Mort, Sourceror, and Wyrd Sisters) in paperback at my house, and I've read a lot more, thanks to my local library. This series is excellent, and much better than Hitchhiker's Guide. It's longer, the author is still alive, and it doesn't have radically different movie and radio adaptations.

Not bad, but you have only taken the first few steps to englightenment(or everlasting hilarity, whichever comes first).

To reach your goal you not only have to have all the books(the last hero MUST be in the large graphic novel format), but you also need all the maps, the A-to-Z, the Nanny Ogg's cookbook, a book which contains the stories 'Troll Bridge'(introduces Cohen the Barbarian) and 'Theatre of Cruelty'(Punch&Judy show, but with a twist...) and if you happen to have the book Strata - which isn't a Discworld book, really - well...

Not to mention 'Thud!'

Well, I've read 'The Last Hero', but none of the other extras. And it's because of my library's spotty selection that I haven't read ALL of the books yet.

I can't help but wonder what this country would be like if Vetinari was president...

BTW: Some of the stuff may also be available in the american site, but frankly, the covers on the American editions... Should have been thrown into the Ankh...
