I want a tiny Quentyn Plushie!!

It depends how much they cost. $10? Sure. $20? I'll think about it. $50? No way.

POSSIBLE compromise solution:
Include on one of the future super CD's jpg's or PDFs, which when printed out on standard size paper* can be used as patterns for making ones own Quentin plushie. This could work because with the interest general in fur-suiting and plushies, many furries know how to sew (although something as detailed as I am envisioning might be a challenge for most). I realize that most printers can't handle the type of paper that works best for sewing patterns (too delecate), but they could be traced off the print-out. Don't forget to included how many fractions of yards of each type of material are required (actually fake fur is often sold in much smaller units that the 'inches(cm) off the bolt' method, but that still leaves the hat and clothes and stuff). I would suggest that large popsicle sticks, shaped with a hobby knife (X-acto for instance) or other razor-blade would be a good choice of material to underlay the fabric (real leather???) that sheath, handle, and hand-gaurd of Wildcard would be made out of, you could even make it so it is drawable, with a leather sheath(no re-enforcement), and with the sword itself out of two crossed popscil sticks covered in leather, brass colored cloth(or brass beads/balls) and irridecent purple cloth for the blade. If inclusion of the glimmer rope in action is desired then a pipe-cleaner would be the simplest solution, with starched or glue soaked cord as a second option. Or what might work even better is one of those glow-in-the-dark rubber-over-wire things could also be an option (sorry I can't describe these better, but they are popular among ravers and at Fourth of July events).

One of the advantages of all this is the ability of the person making it to re-scale and possibly re-pose the design before they make it.

I am not sure how good Ralph is at designing stuff like this, but someone might be willing to volenteer it (or he could commision them for some reasonable price).

Perhaps these should be sold as something seperate from the CD's? Pay-to-download???

* Probably best to keep it within the dimensions of the the smaller of the two standard sizes between 8.5x11 and whatever they use in europe.

Yeah, for VERY small quantities, and larger dimensions, someone like that might, indeed, be the way to go.

This sounds like a way for Quentyn to load up on a pile of lux trinkets for free. All he needs to do is announce a partnership with Max, to fund his expedition through the sale of those stuffed toys...

The people would likely buy the dolls by the armload "for the cause". Max gets rich while his new reputation as a do-gooder grows, Quentyn gets trade goods, and everybody goes away happy.

Well. count me out of DracoDei's idea. I can't even sew a simple tear without ending up with a knot or an unraveling.

Best bet would likely be to partner up with someone who's allready making plush toys on a small scale and give them a cut of the profits. The commercial route's a bit ambitious, especially for something as small scale as this would be, and that's assuming everything goes just right.

And let's be honest here folks, when's the last time anything ever went "just right"? I know you're all thinking how cute this would be, but if somethings just a little off on the production run, there's gonna be at least 500 pug fugly little rat things that need to be sold off to cover expenses. And yes, it could easily get that bad, and worse(after all, while the second run should go better than the first, there's still no gaurentee it'll go right!).

I know, it'd be so cool and so cute, but only if it's done right, and you're not likely to find that with the big guys(well, not right off the bat, anyhow).

Quentyn had better choose his lux-enhanced trade stock with humans in mind, though.

Good point, I keep forgetting about the scale difference. That skillet would probably make a great egg poacher!

Well...IF Ralph gets a good chunk of the money and IF I get a windfall, maybe. I am an employee at a non-profit group home (read low pay) , I have only been working full time for five years, and I am 48 and have to start thinking about retirement. As well, the treatment for my mental illness is not cheap. I have already contributed $20, bought the uberCD and the 2005 superCD, and preordered the 2006 superCD, as well as commissioning an artwork. If I have to spend a day's pay to get a statuette after a month and Ralph only gets a few bucks, it is not worth it.

It was only when Ralph pointed out he was down to his last buck that I even considered a statue (BTW. I would prefer a statue to a plushie doll...I am a 48 year old man, not a little girl). Look, if Ralph got $20, I would consider this a $20 statue and a $20 donation combined. That is reasonable. But to someone who considered dropping his mission child when the price went up $10 a month (I didn't, though) $40+ is a lot. Perhaps Ralph can PM me some idea of what he gets, if the exact total is confidential for some reason. And to all you out there, I am sure that at least some of you are better off than me. Please consider an extra donation...if I can consider this, you can give an extra few bucks too.

I traditionally get something myself for my Christmas/Birthday (March 5) in the winter. Last winter it was a couple books on Old English, for example. Well, next winter I resolve not to do so because I am doing it now (I have no guarantee of living that long, anyway). So I tried to order my Quentyn. I had to sign up for Paypal to do it. And I have no idea how to use it to get my payment to the maker. I emailed him (had trouble even doing that...seems there was a comma instead of a dot in the address...hope I changed it right). But can anyone here give me advice as well on how to get my money to him? With shipping, etc. I don't even know how much to send!

I think mine came to $40ish. In fact that is mine displayed on that page. He is now guarding my PC.

Let me check my email records. When I did it it came to $40.00 that included tax and shipping. So $40 is the answer. You can also have it made however you want, You are not limited to what has been made before. But, that is a good pose, nice and heroic, really sums Q up.

I sent the $40. And I used the pose you did...I like it too.

I'm thinking of getting an Indiana Jones Quentyn.
