something is underfoot, maybe it's the HP&tGoF in the DVD player but I get this ominous feeling that something big is coming and Q ain't gonna like it.
I hate to nitpick but how would a sound blask kill a kracken and only stun a rac-cona? I mean of the two which has the bigger ears? or was it something like a directed blast or it doesn't effect Q as badly because he's the one it's bonded to?

I'm assuming directed, so the Kraken got the full sonic force, which then spread out and echoes to Quentyn. Less bang, but the boy's gonna be dazed outta his mind for a while.
And this meeting does not bode well at all.

You know, I had the exact same question. I thought, though, that it might have something to do with the Wildcard bonding. Remember when they were testing it they said that it would never do anything to hurt Quentyn. So maybe somehow what Wildcard does, while affecting him to a certain extent, can't actually do physical damage because of the bond...
That, anyway, was what I came up with. Don't ask me how it works, though.

(OT) Wouldya believe it took me all of 30 seconds to figure out what HP&tGoF stood for? I'm getting slow in my old age.

Isn't it obvious?
Magic.

"That isnt important now"
"Need to call a village meeting"
I wonder if this will directly affect the whole of the village itself....

Lee, I cn't blame you, if someone pulled that one on me I'd probably just give up after 20 seconds (or less) and figure out in a few days.
lawyers, if they're the same there as they are here they'd better be armed...
...because everyone else sure is!

Actually sonic weapons are in development, basic principle? focused ultrasonic pulse are so hard, they act like either 'A' a cutting edge or 'B' well, yave you ever seen what happens to a watermellon when its hit by a 7.62x51 NATO? (.308 to us civillians).

Makes me wonder if....
(A) Freeman Downs is being somehow annexed by Sactuary City and will no longer have autonomous status....or
(B) Somehow Sactuary City Council wants to or has "annexed" Quentyn to be the City Questor.....but this seems unlikely
It's the "in absentia" hearing/vote that has me bothered.......it smacks of trying to ram something thru without giving the absent party any oppertunity of defense........
But then, like the rest of us, I'm really just guessing. Whatever it is, I think it's gonna culminate in a major showdown either politically, physically or both.
Wonder if Gilder is behind this, or is connected to it in some way?

Magic.
As Professor Inkling explained in Kes's first class of
Luxcraft History and Philosophy...
Professor Inkling wrote:Lesson One
1) There is no such thing as wizards.
2) There is no such thing as spells, enchancements, or magical artifacts.
3) There is no such thing as magic.
And that concludes Lesson One. Any questions, class?

Going by Lady Rose's expression it has to be something very bad for Quentyn. Maybe imprisonment or death sentence bad. The elders would have to be convened as his office is tied to their community.

Its bad, I'll agree, but I don't think its "death" bad. She would surely be protesting more.
