I thought humans could have the ability to use lux; it was just very rare. When humans actually could use it, I thought their capacity for it was a great deal higher than a rac'conan...

Yes,lux cannot contact the dead but what about the ghost or evil soul contacting Fen? That is different then contacting the dead with Lux.

I think it's been established that some humans can see and manipualte Lux.. And that they are the ones called Mages by other humans, who don't really have any other references for the concept of Luxcraft beyond "It's Maaaaaagic!"

How about a human mage ignorantly thinking he's contacting the spirit world, but instead managing to make some weak, tenuous contact with the Rac Conans through the Fae Rath?

Lesse. Person becomes obsessed with a magical gate that leads to (possibly) other dimensions until experiments are started that lead to something evil coming from the gate.

This whole thing smells like it could lead to Rac Cona DOOM to me.
