Okay, I was wrong... A squeaky cartoon voice DOES fit Squidge!
That was excellent!
I was going for a lower and breathier voice, since Squidge is a flexible little guy and could probably croak like a frog if he wanted. Too much thinking. You got it right.

After a couple of hours fighting a lunatic laptop, I was ready to post whatever I had. I'm still downloading updates on my dial-up connection, since I reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled the basic Linux OS.
My ISP disconnects me after 8 hours, too... That puts a crimp in things.
I can download maybe 20Mb / hour at best, so I can't download any more than 160Mb at a time. I may have to take the laptop to work and connect it up to our network.
Avoid those who speak badly of the people, for such wish to rule over you.

Well, found a place to store my Squidge file. Hope you all can download a wav file.

Heeeeerrrrre's Squidge!

:D Enjoy!

(Note: All dialogue was taken directly from the comic. Try reading some of them while listening to this, or guess which strips they're from.)
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

Character sprites

Post by Gizmo »

Yuoofox wrote:Oh, we want to know what TOTQ sprites you've made and whether or not we could use them for a game. Also, do you have the time / inclination to make more sprites?
Included is a copy of the character sprites I made for the fanfic piece.

I am working on a TOTQ RPG game. I wouldn't mind a place where I can upload updates. I'm trying to use my time on the project, but I don't have time to set-up/maintain the project. If someone is interested in it, please contact me. I've made some zipfile backups of what I got working, and its already pushing 20MB, includes source code, sprites, reference images, and unedited sound files.

The character sprite from SNES Legend of Zelda is built up by layers. Start with the background, add the 'body', arms/weapons, and then the head. I got some works-in-progress going on, but nothing complete. The hardest part for me is doing animated sprites. I'm also making a simplified 'mini-Questor' sprite sheet, based on sprites from GBA games.

There's so much to do.

Hmm... Do you think it's alright to change Psalms 23:5 to "You annointest me in the prescence of mine enemies / My cup runneth over with joy" in the setting of Psalms 23?

.....what?
Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?' John 11: 25-26

Hmm,... never mind - it works for He leadeth me beside the still waters he restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

(By the by, I know that the filename should really be something like Psalms23-2b-3 but...)

Also, though I haven't done accompaniments yet so they don't connect up, but... Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

...Only one possible disadvantage: It might not quite fit the scene I'm writing it for. Eh, well, maybe the hopefulness will give an ironic counterpoint? in any case, I'm doing the setting.

What are you talking about? Am I totally missing something?

The Rat King battle. We need a setting of psalm 23 for the end of it.

(By the by, I do know I need to lengthen the other stuff I did as well, ut I was in the shower and came up with this odd little sretting of Psalm 23:4, and thought it best to record it.

Very pretty, but I thought it would be very low, slow edgey tune, almost like a heart beat, and with each line of the verse, a sharp percussion or something. I don't know. You are much better at this than me.

I don't want to interrupt you, but do you really only have one programmer?

Btw, you should have a look at http://www.gamemaker.nl. And if you think that the SGDK is better than GM, then download this beta (there's not much in it though) of a game I'm making at the moment: Click

Sorry if I bothered you with my mindless ranting, but I simply had to say that.

No worries, man. We need all the help we can get. Ask YouuFox. He's kind of heading up the project.
