Oh well, I'm guessing Ralph wants us all to guess what Quentyn's unprofessional behavior might have been... Since Rillcreek's profession is that of a lux mage, I'm guessing it has something to do with lux... Maybe setting off that "lux bomb" in a populated area would qualify as "very unprofessional" wizardry.

But hey... it was fun!

I'll admit at first I never considered Rillcreek was talking about anything besides Quentyn's unintended mishaps. I suppose we'll find out exactly what he's talking about when he says "unprofessional behavior".

Of course if he IS talking about Quentyn's mishaps, then he needs to learn people make mistakes. :-?

if he already does realize that it'd make all the more sense that he'd vote for a punishment that wasn't too severe ie. cunsure

we all make mistakes, but the consequesnces of our blunders help us to learn from them. if Rillcreek realizes Quentyn merely made mistakes he probably just wants to make sure that Quentyn learns from them and know where it was that he made mistakes.

after all, you can't learn from mistakes that you still don't know that they are mistakes can you?
I still say the doctor did it....

I think it's much more likely that 'unprofessional' in this case means not following through, not getting any rewards, possibly not demanding his rights as a Questor to not be quadruple-fined for actions taken in the line of duty, not going to his behind-the-scenes contact (who turned out to be Mulharney) for unofficial assistance, and other failure-to-have-backup glitches. We'll see, I'm sure.

Heh, I think Quentyn knew that running through the streets naked, snatching fruit from a street vendor, and tresspassing in people's homes were mistakes long before he made them. :P

Well, I guess he did have some "Unprofessional Behaviour" But after deciding not to go to the authorities, the means of staying professional just went downhill from there.

To me it looks like something where the glass is set in concrete..
I can't remember / find any reference of,
but there was an excentric fellow who built three towers using concrete and scraps from junkyards ect.. old forks, broken pottery ect, ...
I believe they were named Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria. and I think they were made on the western coast ( california )...

Searching google for more details..

That MAY just have been a movie plot. I am pretty sure I remember a movie about that, but it may have been 'based on a true story'.

I'd like to see this scene.

*Quentyn:* "Unprofessional behavior?....disappointed you? Master Rillcreek, do you have any interest at all in MY side of what happened? I was there....none of you were! Do you have any interest in what led up to some of the situations that so terribly troubled the Council? Or should I just leave and accept my censure without comment since what I had to say about it at the meeting wasn't even considered."

Quentyn needs to forcefully ask this rather than just bow his head and take his "beat-down" like a "good" little boy. If all he's gonna get is criticism with no direction or instruction/advice, then contrary to his assurtions, Master Rillcreek does NOT support him......it's all just lip service. :x

And yes, I have one helluva big problem with getting hammered on and not being allowed to defend my actions, or any explanations being summarily dismissed or totally ignored. BTDT, it sucks and I tend to react in a very negative manner to this particular treatment. When it gets to this point, I really don't give a diddly damn who you are....I tell you straight up just exactly what's on my mind and screw the consequences.....I've already been condemned in their eyes....so I've got nothing much else to lose.

Absolutely I tend to burn some bridges at times....but I do NOT tolerate getting screwed by a bunch of politicians whose actions were taken solely to try and cover their own asses when there was nothing to cover it from in the first place....except in their own minds. :-?

I'll be VERY interested in Rillcreek's answers to Quentyn's question.....if he has the knobs to ask the right ones.

Rant mode: <off>

He, but not Quentyn, is old enough to know that:
Good judgment comes from experience.
Experience comes from bad judgment :-?

Found the location ... <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watts_Towers">Watts Towers</a>

And the Movie.. <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0175552/">Daniel and the Towers</a>

On closer inspection there are marked differences in RH's style and the Watts Towers, however, I have seen very *organic* structures created using concrete.

Okay, time to comment...

On the matter of Rac Conan structure:

It's based on art noveux style of architecture, a very "organic" style. Usually involves a lot of curves and imitation of plantlife. Kinda like what you might see in Rivendell in LotR, with all the trees and leaves.

Personally, I prefer it. I have always loved the woods. Might have something to do with walking in grandpa's woods over in Cohasset... :P

(and if you know where Cohasset is, I congratulate you... and must know if you're not one of my second cousins)

On the matter of Rillcreek's comments:

It seems he has answered it himself. It wasn't what he did. It's that he did not have his own version of events and did not get them posted ASAP. That would've covered his fuzzy butt very well when it came to facing the council. They might've given him a lighter sentence (to Gilder's consternation no doubt), or at least had a better understanding of it.

Letting the newspapers and reporters decide what really happened for you is an invitation for disaster. Like what happened with Mr. Deeds. Someone get me a whakadu... I have a few reporters to "educate" on the proper way to transcribe facts.
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.
