Youre right about the 165 to 147 thing (although wpuld be very OLD people) but Quentyn is 14, 15 something like that. That would make her at least 25+.
Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?' John 11: 25-26

That's one thing that I have trouble accepting about the whole story. Yeah, it's cute that Quentyn is only 15 at the most, but in the raccoon world, it seems as if people go off to the equivalent of college study at age 14 or 15, or otherwise take up the family business. What gives? Do they just age faster?

I don't mean to read too much into it, I know it's just cartoon animals anyway. But if there was ever a series without many plotholes, it's TOTQ. So this one stands out all the more. :-?

Nope, not a plothole.

Take a look at our own history.
By the age of 15 or 16 most had started working, and being married wasn't that unusual, either.

And no, that isn't ancient history. Go back only a century and that was the norm in most of the world.

There's also physical maturity and mental maturity.

Physically it seems rac-conans mature between 14 - 25 (according to the CD's)

Humans can mature physically a bit earlier than that, but its roughly within the same range.

All physical maturity really entails is when you stop getting taller and become capable of reproduction.

Mental maturity is a completely different matter. There is no set age for when one becomes mentally mature. I know kids that are barely into their teens who are serious, level headed, responsible adults. And I know some adults that are well past their 30's that can barely function in society.

The rac-conans live in a harsh hostile environment, this will generally produce a more mature individual a little more rapidly as childish mistaks can lead to an early grave.

Look at when Nessie called the mudgullet, she wanted to do something good, but she potentially risked lives and property within their village. A little more mental maturity and she would have never attempted such a thing.

Mental maturity involves a willingness to take responsibility for one's own actions and not laying the blame for one's failures upon someone else or uncontrollable circumstance. (Stupid, ice made me wreck! Ahh, but did you have to go 40 MPH in a 25 MPH zone in the snow?)

Unfortunately, the trend in America seems to be away from personal responsibility and towards blaming everything but ourselves for our problems.
