Well, I guess that trick with the lux barrel should have been pretty obvious (hindsight is always twenty-twenty). Quentyn looks real refreshed in that last panel now that WC is back in action. Looks like we're on the verge of a beat-down... or, if Quentyn is smart, he'll run his furry little tail off before the place becomes inebriated with spectators (and the authorities). Of course, WC has to get back into his own hands before he can go anywhere...

Artistically speaking, LOVE that treatment of a lux-soaked Quentin. A bit of polish to take out the jaggies, and that'd make a fine poster.

Great Artwork, now it's part time.

It looks like Quentyn will be the only one left with a Lux weapon when Wildcard comes to him. This is good.
Let's hope that Wildcard draws enough so the Lux overload will ease up before the Wakadu or his boots zap out on him.

Yeah, and it also looks like Ralph had to so some quick thinking.

"Okay, the lux capacitor blows out all the lux items, then Quentyn just dashes at them with his Whackadu and Lux Boots and....

"Oh crap...."

So, he puts in lux absorbtion, and assumes that knowing it is coming will be enough for him to soak it in and protect his weapons, while the others, not prepared for it, won't have time to react.

I love how the strip has a kind of syncrosity about it (did I spell that right or does the word even exist?) that is that at the same time Quentyn is siphoning off the power, the other effects of the lux pulse bomb are also happening at the same time.

I also love the purple effects in the lower left panel.

The boots should have been somewhat drained from the chase, and we already know that the have a level of charge above that they can safely sustain above what they normally would carry (remember when he first got them?)... the Wakadu is a problem. He could always just throw it at them...
And I am not so sure Ralph wasn't aware of this problem before. He COULD have fixed it in the last page... just make the room 5 times as long or more... of course that would have allowed the smug little wave, but...
Quentin can't always do EVERYTHING right...

Also, if his boots don't blow up, he'll have enough charge to high-tail it out of there if the gangs start chasing him.

I think the only times when he hasn't planned weeks or months in advance what he's drawn and colored is when an emergency happens. like that one titles "now lemme tell you about *my* week"

everything else I think he does in advance and if something doesn't fit right he rethinks it.

GREAT JOB RALPH!!!!! The Lux innundated Quentyn panel is superb......love the coloring.....and I agree it would make a GREAT poster.

Hmmm... Quentyn is not a strong lux user, and so he can't conduct lux power as well as most. Considering that, where he is, what's happening around him, and the condition of his boots, I'd choose "Jump as high and as far as you can" as a usable tactic. Burn some of the lux, get out of the danger zone, and impress the heck out of the locals all at once, with your dramatic "Patriot Missile launch" exit.

Sure Wildcard is still buried, but it's safe enough right where it is for the moment, whether it does the "return to sender" thing or not.

I am thinking that Wildcard can drain the excess lux out of Quentyn as soon as he gets his paws on it.
