Confusing day (11-26)

Yes, the Royals are very confused, and soon to get more confused.
1) The gang war has started.
2) RHjr. cheated a little with that "I'll leave it up to you" comment. It kind of leaves a plot hole in an important area.
3) It looks like Quentyn is preparing to pull down the warehouse. I wonder if this is so, and if so, how he intends to avoid mass murder.

Yeah, I'm wondering that myself. And I wonder what the Barrel-O-Lux (or whatever it is) is for.

They will just get a big shake up, that fall won't kill, just hurt and bruise.

And to get close to the stilts? A cardboard box!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great use of the dustdevil, I love the art.

combat is confusing, once while playing dodgeball,(the kind where everyone is in two teams facing each other and the last team with members still in it wins) I tried a crazy strategy (I was actually rather known for those in dodgeball and was either the last one out or got out for the team (or just dumb luck))

I went to the nutral territory without a ball and turned around.
see, whenever someone has the ball they usually advance on the other team, sometimes to the furthest edge of the nutral territory. from there they assault the other team because the flat walls on the other side bounce the balls right back to the throwers. this makes it hard to stop them without someone getting hit and deflecting the ball towards where another teammate can get to it. there were four balls in all.

so here I am turned around in the nutral zone so it looks like I'm for the other team. then one of the thrown balls just rolls my way, and guess who gets it and tags out the other team's throwers.

combat and sport are organized (well in sports at least it's supposed to be organized) chaos, someone can come and go and so long as they don't get engaged by either side go relatively unnoticed.

A walking cardboard box is gonna attract a little attention, I would think...

yeah but make it look like a stack of smaller card board boxes and it is amazing how they miss you ^_^

Yeah, s'what I thought, but I figure he wants to keep the action moving.

Consider though.... while everyone's looking at the dust-devil Quentyn, no-one has attention to spare for the real thing... I wonder if he could 'dust-devil' himelf invisible...

Unlikely, the dustdevil seems to be little more than a cloud of lux-animated dust meant to look roughly like whatever convient distraction is necessary.

However, a variation of this could be used in a manner similar to a smoke bomb, and that coupled with some boot assisted sprinting could've been enough to get through the melee untouched.

Hell, given the speed he can move at with those things, he could've just ran straight through. Any attention he garnered would've been been neatly dispatched by an oportunistic fist, and as noone could catch him and everyone had bigger problems right at the moment it'd be pretty easy to get away with.

Alternatively, he could have used the glimmer rope so that he never had to get within three meters of the fight in the first place.

Are you sure that he is using a dustdevil? I thought he was just moving really fast. But then....he said he didn't want to actually go IN there so I guess that makes sense. Finding WC will be easy now...pick through the rubble! I suprosed no one complained about Quentyn still industrial....um....things....I guess you could call them that....I just Quentyn to be able to go home.

Well If the barrel is a lux capacitor that Quentyn used to supercharge his boots, maybe he was
so fast he was faster than the eye could see. Heck it worked for Dash and incredibly they even had him on video.
Of course that was just a movie. :)

Interesting. At first I thought that was an indication of the stench of the redcaps. Every month we learn more about the questorverse.

Oooh, the look on Quentyn's face in that first panel. I have *never* seen him with a more evil look.

And I worry about bringing down that house with the gang inside it. That *could* get someone killed.
