YEAH! We can each mail Quentyn a sheet of paper with a message on it. Let's read your letters to Quentyn. Here's mine:

Dear Quentyn:
We live on a world which has a single moon and a single race, a human one. In spite of this, there have been many persecutions by some humans on others over how they look, worship and other trivial differences. In the last couple centuries we have slowly been reducing this tendency, but much of it still remains.
We have few or no mages among us, and lux is unknown. But in the last century or two we have developed technology which is more versatile and more powerful than luxcraft in some ways, less powerful and versatile in others. We have weapons which can destroy our world, but have not used them in the sixty years since two cities were erased by early examples of them. Our technology, through both greed and ignorance, has done damage to our natural world, but we are now doing some work to slow and sometimes even heal a little of this damage. We are new to these abilities, and we are still learning. I do not know if we will destroy ourselves in the learning, but many of us are trying very hard to do good. Maybe someday we will have a world as nice as yours.
Your friend, Tom Mazanec

Well, what about your letters? What would you add or amend to mine?

Dear Quentyn,

I know that life is very hard for you, and you've gone through things amazingly difficult and terrifying things things that I could never imagine going through. Yet, don't envy those who seem to have great strength or resources or those who seem lucky. For instance, I know they made fun of you for being small, but creatures from my world get made fun of too, and for the silliest reasons... being too tall, too short, too fat, too thin, too dumb, too smart. As a Fennec fox, I've had people taunt my ears for being too big, only to have another group taunt them later for being too small. Sometimes, you just can't win. Well, I guess being a Rac Cona Daimh is no different. We're all mortal. I must admit that sometimes you Rac Cona Daimh seem immortal to me, but I'm talking about things from an Eternal perspective. Whether you have the strength to live 80 years, 250 years, or 350,000 years, and whether your people live in violence and anarchy, peace and tranquility, or even a shaky mixture of the two, we all have the same weaknesses and lusts in our hearts. But, I also think we have the same Hope.

I am comforted to know that you and I have the same Savior in common, although he is known by different names. You call him Yeshua. I call him Aslan. My human counterpart calls him Jesus. With so many names, how can we know that we're all talking about the same person? Some ask, "Could not all the gods and deities that the different religions worship simply be different names for the same thing?" There are many good and fine people in each of our worlds who think this, but I am not among them. I think that a name is only as significant as the attributes of the thing or personality of the person that it describes, and I believe a person can learn to distinguish one thing from another by its nature. My human counterpart likes to call this "testing the spirits," but I like to call it "tasting the fruits."

Anyway, sorry for rambling, Quentyn. I'm only getting to hear your story a little bit at a time, as told by a good storyteller and artist, and we're all cheering for you here.

Sincerely,

Yuoo F. Fox

P.S. What does Lux "taste" like?

Thanks, Yuoofox
Giving it some thought is a good idea...remember, you only get one sheet of paper, so make it count!

I know I'm going to hell for this, but here goes...

A letter to be made a few years later...

To Quentyn,

Hey. This is Hilton. If you don't remember the name, I'm that Zoroan that had threatened your life and your parents about a month ago (Sorry about all that, by the way). I was wondering if you could assist me with something.

I want to know about being a "Questor."

If you're wondering why, this is the story. I recently caught a wanted thief, another Zoroan known as "Rosetta," and was going to turn her in for some reward money...you know, to help me buy a new house for me and my new sister (she's feeling very well these days, by the way). As I went to the authorities, she was saying how much of a powerful guy I was, and how I'd be able to fight to protect the Zoroans from harm...possibly even for pay. The thought reminded me of your job, and it seemed a little intriguing at first, but I wasn't sure what need Zoroans would have for that.

Anyway, I turned her in and had gotten the reward, but before I left I heard them discussing plans for her execution. I couldn't believe it...they were going to punish her by death, and according to what I heard, she only stole one or two purses (or wallets...I can't remember) You could imagine how I felt about all that. But I kept my cool (well, as best as I could, anyway) and decided to pay for her bail with the money I just earned. It was certainly going to hinder my progress of buying my new home, but I just couldn't let that injustice happen...even if the person I was rescuing was a sassy ^*%&$.

So I continued to think about what she was saying before, and after looking at what sorts of injustice the Zoroans in that town have to put up with, I've thought of taking up that kind of a job. A sort of Zoroan Questor, I guess. I don't know what your thoughts are about all this, but I need the money...and I think I'd be doing a good thing for my people. At least it's better for the soul than doing something illegal like last time...

So I just need to know what exactly a Questor does, as well as any tips on getting that kind of a business started. I know at least word of mouth is important, so if there are any Zoroans you happen to meet where you go, be sure to let them know there's someone ready to look out for them. I'd appreciate that.

I hope to hear a response soon. Right now I need to spread some of the news myself, and possibly get some supplies to help me out along the way. Good luck on your future adventures, and I hope to meet up with you diring one of mine.

Nothing to joke about IMHO :(

Bail for a capital crime seems like a non sequitor to me... :-?

Yah, I don't know what the heck I'm doing half of the time. That's why I usually just sit over in a corner, shut up and draw stuff. At least I can sorta do that without feeling too stupid.
