What is your favorite strip of TotQ? Mine is where the sword goes "At the tone, the time will be 4:23 AM...BLEEP!"

Here is my favorite strip.
http://npc.keenspace.com/d/20030525.html

It is when Quinn's neighbor comes over to brag how his son is doing in the smiths guild and asks Quinn how Quentlyn is doing on his job. Just then the cart of Gragum that Quentlyn killed saving the swamp chieftains daughter shows up. Quinn's deadpan reply and the look on the neighbors face as well as Quinn's chuckle when he goes back into the house are classics.

"Nothing so grand as being an apprentice tinsmith, I'm sure..." has to be one of the funniest lines in the series. Favorite, though? I've always been partial to this sequence...

http://npc.keenspace.com/d/20020609.html - and especially
http://npc.keenspace.com/d/20020616.html .

Rillcreek obviously likes the boy and thinks he has potential - and the Guard captain seems to be wishing the size requirements weren't so strict.

As you've probably guessed, my favorite part of this story is the part about Brother Linnaeus. :-)

I suppose I'm somewhat of a Nessie fan. Hard to narrow it to a single strip, but this one seems to be the culmination:

Another favorite will be Quentyn's first encounter with Meribeth that doesn't leave him feeling foolish or embarrassed, if that ever happens, but it hasn't yet.

^.^ Not surprising at all. A sad story line, but I am really glad RH adressed it.
My favorite? Hmm.... I dunno about the whole series, but of that story line this panel touched me most.

Can't blame you. I really liked that story arc as well. Especially the look on Linnaeus's face when Quentyn hangs the Gragum necklace on the cross.

Grrr... It's hard to pick out best strips from such a good comic!

Well, I dunno about favorites, but this is one I'll never forget:

http://npc.keenspace.com/d/20020428.html

I don't know why... but every time I read this, I get this weird feeling...

I get the impression the stag is not talking to Quentyn...

...it's talking to me.

*shiver* Freaks me out every time. And it leaves me half wondering if it isn't really talking to me in some way. I relate with Quentyn so much, about how difficult it can be to live your dream... all the doubt, all the ridicule... wondering if your parents support you or not... the fear of jumping off that cliff and wondering if you'll fall or fly...

Who knows? Maybe, in some way, the message was meant both for Quentyn...

...and for me.

That's the best part of a good story. There's a little bit of the hero in each of us.

Indeed... I don't mean to be presumptuous, but escapism my foot, I think most all of us here want this to be our reality! You don't enjoy stories like this, I think, if you don't actually have a fantasy of being there and doing it all.

.............. You know, minus the running around naked in public and getting thrown in the slammer many times over. :P

Hmmm... I would counter this. One could not be a really adventurous type and still enjoy the story. I don't have any dreams, really, of being Quentyn, or of being a questor, or even a questor-type person. And most of the time when I read, I don't actually imagine myself as or want to be the main character. At most, I may wish for some specific and isolated element in their experience to also be in mine, but this is not usually the largest motivation in my reading. (I just read because I'm addicted, plain and simple. :D )

Any case, my $.02, as someone who both loves reading and enjoys analyzing... well, anything ... but in this case, the experience of reading.
