That was so cool. It was kind of a "oh yeah" moment for Quentyn. Plus it looks cool. Also it is good story telling by RH, letting you relax a bit, and then BAM! Oh, no...you're wrong! Personally, I say go for the sword, they already know you are there. Try to get it before they all get back inside, maybe cause a little trouble with the Shadow Racs. I find it very to believe they believe "i got lost" bit. He better move whatever he does (insert 3 Stooges noise here)

It might be that when they attack Quentyn, Wildcard will sense the trouble and come to him. It happened before with the Gragum.

But we already know that the bond is beeing strained by the wards placed around the case, its posible that WC dosn't have the power to sence where he is in order to go to him.

But all he has to do is jump down, grab it from the case, and get it away from the tappers. Right now is his best chance, with all the others out of the place.

He might have been able to get away with being curled up in a corner, pretending to be asleep, but that's not an option now.

Yes but remeber he did not call Wildcard when it came to him with the Gragum. It came to him because he needed Wildcard. He has not been attacked by the Royals. If he gets attacked now, Wildcard will come not from his call but from his need. According to here http://npc.keenspace.com/d/20050502.html If Quentyn is greatly agitated it will do all in its power to get to him. At this close range to Wildcard, if the Royals attack Wildcard will come.
