A look from outside
Say a raccoonar learns about our world (magic mirror, astral projection, teleportation, whatever). What would he think of us? Would we be his vision of the "wrong place" you go to if you are bad when you die? Would he marvel at what we had done without lux? Would he pity us? Loath us? Admire us?

Well, if it's the average, good-hearted, Yeshua worshiping Rac'Conan, and he got a good, wide view of people in general here, he'd probably have a heart attack after he died of shock.
I suppose in general they'd see us as an oddity that needed either dealing with or ignoring... and if they knew the link worked both ways, a sincere threat. Assuming they could figure out how guns and missiles and human nature worked before PEDA and our UFO lovers got to them...

People for Entertainment by Diminutive Animals?
On to topic, if it were a visual-only interface I could almost see a "Turn that off Timmy, It'll rot your brain!" type of response.
Lux-aside I think the most intriguing part of an actual cultural interface, with the greatest social ramifications would be when it was discovered that they were a community of (southern?) baptists.
How well (or poorly) an actual interchance would go would definitely depend on the prejudices and tempraments of individuals on both sides. (There's a reason why the rac-conans are hidden behind the mistwall...)

it may depend on their predisposition as far as how they view fiction. I figure it's just as likely (if both worlds actually exist) that they may have fictional stories concerning our world as we may have about theirs.
should said rac viewing our world be a fiction goer, he/she amy find a place they actualy recognize!

They are from Earth-C, it is all very real. You seen when Ralph sleeps his mind becomes in tune with the alternate Earth. So his dreams are in fact images and visions from Earth-C, which he creates into the comic.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Dang. I spelled PETA wrong. Oh well... it seems to work better with what you said anyway, Tbolt.
Maybe, if you want to get metaphysical about it, we're all just dreaming about the same alternate Earth, and when we die, we wake up in the other one?!

I like the Chronicles of Narnia theory, where our world is just one of many worlds (some of which are other planets, while others are in completely different universes). Each world has its good points and its bad points, and some worlds are better than others. (An example of a bad world is the kingdom of Charn, in which the queen there basically nuked all life out of existance, except for herself.) However, each of these worlds are just shadowy illusions based on the one true world, Heaven. In this heaven, you can recognise aspects of all the worlds, except that they aren't shadowy and distorted (ie imperfect or sinful) like the other worlds are.
As for whether our world is a good one or a bad one... I think it's both. If you had a magic video camera that recorded all the noble actions through history (which usually occur when life is at its worst), you'd be convinced that this is a great place, one worth living in despite the wrongs. But, if you recorded all the bad things througout history, then you'd be ready to have this whole place thrown into the trash can (or dust bin). In my opinion, God is the only person who can completely reconsile or comprehend the two sides.
Anyway, those are my two cents. It's okay if you disagree.

lessee here.
loveable = face value
little = face value
bispectacled = wears glasses
kraut = a term used by WW2 soldiers to describe the 'enemy' which was
often Germans (ie. the makers of SOUR-KRAUT)
hiding behind the potted palm = (there may be a specific reference here but I don't know what it is to, I assume it's a potted palm tree or something, I'm a bit lost at this point)

I would think it is more like Robert Heinlein's idea of the "World-As-Myth" as mentioned in his book, "Number of the Beast"shyal_malkes wrote:so this earth is just some "mass dillusion" or something like that?
kinda like the forums themselves. it's just some pseudo world where everyone gets together and acts silly and when all's said and done, it's time to get back to reality and pay the bills.
Honesty is the best policy, but insanity is a better defence.
A lot of times he'd have a cigarette held in the European style, palm toward the face cigarette held between thumb and forefinger.
One scene I remember well, the rest of the asylum (cast) did some sketch and blew it......."Hermann the German" parts the fronds, squints thru those inch thick lenses, and intones:
Veeeeeeery innnnteresting.......but vonce again...dey schrewed it up.. 8) ....*shakes head and withdraws*!
