Macquettes???
Great to see Ralph has found something else for us to buy, but why are they called THAT? Toys, ok. Action Figures, uh-huh. 3-D Images, perhaps. Figurines, even. But Macquettes?? Sounds like female resistance fighters from Star Trek DS9 took jobs dancing at Radio City Music Hall.

There's no insanity in my family. *I* have it all!!

Different names, same things... Kinda how the things your sister plays with are dolls while yours are action figures...
They look pretty well made, though the sample shows "Quentyn of Ridgedale" with a flat red cap instead of green hat with a feather. He's a little taller, leaner, and more self-confident than the comic Quentyn too - maybe he's an older, grown-up Quentyn.

Older, yes. Grown Up, probably (the "groovy" comment of his is the only evidence otherwise
).
But he's definately not our Quentyn, son of Quinn. But rather, he's the predecessor of all Questors in the Sanctury lands

Uh, no. Quentyn of Ridgedale was simply one of the more famous Questors. He was one of many, not the first. He founded the town of Freeman Downs, and I'm pretty sure it was relatively recent, so I'm afraid you're a bit off.
=P That's not to say he didn't inspire a few other souls to take up the mantle of Questor...
...though I dare say he inspired quite a few more to stay home and work the farm after he disappeared.
Ah, but that's a bit much to be telling.
You'll find out soon enough... soon enough...

I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

Re: Macquettes???
A macquette is a small sculpture of a character usually made by animation studios as models for their animators. That way they can see the character from whatever angle they need to get the right look.labrusca wrote:Great to see Ralph has found something else for us to buy, but why are they called THAT? In this case, since he is making models from comic strips, it's a similar thing, hence the use of that word.
I'm rather disappointed that he doesn't have pictures on his site of them. Just a blurb saying he has them, with links back to Ralph's web pages.

Ohh joy, i plan to order one.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Ok, got mine ordered, Based on the cover of the book. Talked it over with Lanin and things sound like they should turn out great. Will post the pictures when I get it.

Well, he's still creating the originals.... and he's got the cast of three different strips to immortalize.maxgoof wrote:A macquette is a small sculpture of a character usually made by animation studios as models for their animators. And that's just yours, Ralph. If I remember the site correctly, he's also doing them for several other authors. Should have an interesting collection in no time.
I'd like to buy one, but mom will bug me about it to no end, 'cause she seems to think that Ralph is scamming me for some reason.
I don't know where she got that impression, except perhaps over the auction of Rillcreek I won that was drawn on computer paper... and cost me around $30 to $60.
Yyyyyeah. Don't think she's looked too closely at any of the other stuff I've gotten. =P

Well just steer well clear of any plumbers in red or green overalls with matching caps, and you should be all right...BlasTech wrote:<snip> well, dont i feel like the goombah now
Well, that and princesses in pink dresses, green dinosaurs with impressive eating and regurgitation abilities, and some other guy... I think he wears a white cap with red spots... but I might be mistaken...
