That simple
See, why waste all that time sneaking and skulking?, just kick a cop in the nuts to get in the gang.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

A version of cahoonies? Wonder what is going to happen when the Royals figure out who he is...
Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?' John 11: 25-26

The only Royals who would be likely to recognize him are the kid who ripped him off in the first place and possibly the ones he tried to tail earlier.Madmoonie wrote:A version of cahoonies? Wonder what is going to happen when the Royals figure out who he is...
And to say "that was easy" reminds me of something a famous musician once said after a sudden rise in his popularity (it may have been Willie Nelson). He said he was an overnight success after years of hard work.

Yes, given that he can actually get close to Wildcard, getting out with it, and using it in case a dramatic escape is needed, is a whole new can o' worms.
I wonder how well he's going to do with "talking the talk and walking the walk" to get in real good with the Royals.

Do you suppose the Royals (or any of their fencing clients) have actually tried to do anything with Wildcard yet? If they have, they've probably discovered by now that not only is it useless, but it's dangerous to anyone but Quentyn. Sure, you can keep it discharged, but as soon as you take it out, it will be exposed to lux and will start to recharge. And it's doubtful anyone the Royals can get to examine it will be able to figure out any more than Messrs. Rillcreek and Irons could before using the guild's best tools.
On the other paw, if they had pulled it out to examine it, would Quentyn have been able to sense it? But, I digress...
The point is, whereas the Royals might have initially thought Wildcard was highly valuable, by now they might just be happy to unload it.

Hm....
I wonder...
We know that at least some gangs are being funded to cause problems, right?
Now, the gang that Quentin and that Royals kid ran into looked well organised and equipped, much more so than the Royals.
(Not better trained, but then, you wouldn't hire a group of trained fighters to cause problems, would you? Too difficult to get rid of later...)
