I thought rac'conan were larger than than normal racoons. Three feet maybe a little less. I went back and looked at the archives and here a rac'conan standing next to a seated human. http://npc.keenspace.com/d/20040905.html . It seems to look as if rac'conan are larger than their natural counterparts. I know Quentyn is small, but is he that small?

Actually, the human in that strip is kneeling, not sitting.

Also note that the potted plant discussed several strips back may have been a stage prop that was lighter than a normal potted plant.

A few other random observations about the current and previous strips:
Rubey didn't show any concern over the smashed window.
We've neither seen nor heard anything about the bard who was supposed to be performing.
With the spotlight on him, I'm surprised Quentyn was able to even see any of the faces in the crowd, much less pick out the one Rac Conan in the crowd he knew.

Physics..schmysics.....y'know why Quentyn could do all that, as well as see thru the spotlights to pick out Meribeth?

He a cartoon and RH says he can do it, that's why......so there...pthbbbbbt

Well, sorta, and sorta not...
If you go back to the previous strip, the plant was really one of two on either side of the stage, not one standing in front of him in the middle of the stage. In this strip we're seeing him from the side...

he mighve backed behind it when the light came on ... and im not sure he's exactly been caught yet. although that probably will happen before the next strip (the comic kind)

All else aside, that was better than most of the "performance art" that I have seen.

And to think, in our world he would have been given a grant for that performance in the name of 'art and culture'.

Do you suppose any of the avant-garde uppercrust in attendance at the party were sufficiently impressed by Quentyn's performance to want him to perform at their next ball?

Well, it's also to take into account one or two things:

1) light cloth

2) They are obviously able to control their weather, within limits--- temperature, humidity, rainfall, etc. So the swamp is most likely a good bit warmer. One would suspect that the Wall of Mists alone ups the humidity and the greenhouse effect over the swamp.

3) The Gragum are not necessarily cold-blooded. Appearances aren't everything, after all. There's good evidence, after all, that the dinosaurs were warmblooded....

The general climate of the Seven Villages is what I tend to call "Mediterranean." Warm, mild, with few major ups or downs. (Cataclysmic arrivals by evil dimension hopping wizards to the contrary.)

The crocodilians of Terra have a primitive endothermic system and four-chambered hearts, actually. They're closer to the birds than they are to the reptiles, in spite of their appearance - unfortunately, no one wants to reclassify them at this point, so they've been left in a false clade. So it's quite easy to suspect that the Gragum are at least semi-warmblooded.

Is anyone else wondering what the hired acting troupe thinks of Quentyn stealing the show?
