I have a language question. I thought "sin pantalones" meant "without pants," at least in Spanish. I don't know about Portugese. Can you help me with this, Sr. Jam?

Eh... You're kidding, right? (checks calendar)

A random thought - Wildcard responds to strong emotions from Quentyn. Is the Royals' safe case strong enough to block these out? Not that Wildcard would be of much use in the present situation.

[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

bigdude wrote:Oh and Ralph? While it's obvious Quentyn needs to rise to the occasion, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T LET HIM RISE TO THE OCCASION IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN AND I THINK YOU DO!!!
I honestly DOUBT that an occasion such as this one would cause ANY male, of whatever inclination, to "rise to the occasion".
Besides, his paws are in a strategic position, so even if he did, I doubt anyone would notice.

I wasn't going to say anything, again, because I thought that the hostess mispronounced the word "sin" as "san". I normally hold off the grammar/spelling check if the "mistake" is in dialogue, dismissing it as mispronunciation (unless the speaker is supposed to be a native). If the term/phrase in question is *written*, THEN I go into SPT (Spanish Teacher Mode).

So yes, the term "Los Actores San Pantalones" is supposed to read "Los Actores Sin Pantalones". The hostess was supposed to say "The actors without pants", but said instead "The actors Saint Pants"

In Portugese, "without" is "sem".

Since I speak better Martian than Spanish  I thought RH had just typo'd sans which is French for without......and the 'nes' at the end of 'pantalones' isn't pronounced as a completely separate syllable.

As in pan-ta-lo-nes.....I thought it was pronounced, "pan-ta-lones" (loans)

How about Kestral being there?
At least Nessie wouldn't be there, since I assume it's not the kind of soiree where someone her age would be invited, even if she is something of a celebrity herself.

That title, the timing, and the fact that it's a one-man play, seem to be just too much of a coincidence, not to mention that by the end of the comic, no other bard has taken the stage. Do you suppose Rubey actually saw what just happened behind the curtain and decided off the cuff to render a bit of "poetic justice" to their uninvited guest?

Guess we just have to wait and see how sadistic RHJr. was feeling towards Quentyn.

As I hav been saying... this just ain't Quentyn's week!
Though, he has been very resouceful getting out of the last few scrapes. I'd say he will no doubt think of something amusing to do for the crowd... maybe a bit of mime? And he will get a loud round of applause.

Either that or the guards will rush in and get booed off stage...
Q's gonna be jut fine.... even if Meribeth will never let him live it down! :D

Poor Quent... remember, you picture the audience naked and you clothed, not the other way around....

*sigh*

Could it get any better?

as we get into situations that we don't want to be in our thinking and behaviour changes. many call this "toughening up" but it is more then that.

I've made characters that couldn't take many hits mentally or physically but they didn't need to cause the way they thought caused them to not get hit at all!

this is a very VERY bitter pill that will strengthen and make Quentyn grow. and as was said earlier, we knew it was going to happen. what's the point that it did happen.

like throwing up when I'm sick I actually feel better so soon after it happens that I almost feel better while it's happening. it's just there and you can take it or you can let it torment you.
I still say the doctor did it....

**Quentyn is standing there on stage, too terrified to do anything. Suddenly, another Racconan walks onto the stage next to Quentyn and begins singing.**

Racconan #1: (sings) When the moon is in the seventh house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars...

Racconan #2: (sings) Then peace will guide the planets, and love will steer the stars.

Bard's Guild Chorus: (sings) This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius, The age of Aquarius...

**After that, the Bard Guild's new avant-garde musical, entitled "Fur," becomes a hit.**

Actually, being on stage and having everyone's attention, if Quentyn has figured out enough about the conspiracy by now he could spill the beans to the public in a forum where it couldn't be hushed up since too many upper crust are there and they can't all be made to disappear.

Of course, he is a long way from having everything figured out yet, so this opportunity is going to be lost.

It plants the seeds. If they start -seeing- some of it later, they'll start wondering. C'mon, where's the next page already??

All in due time, all in due time. Patience.
