Well... Quentyn's boots couldn't be the ONLY lux-enhanced footwear in Sanctuary city, and what better than wall-climbing sandals for an up-and-coming young thief?

No wonder the locals are prepared to shoot whatever they hear on the roof.

at this point I had a thought...

Quentyn gets a letter from Master Rillcreek telling him to stay put and meet him in sanctuary city,

Rillcreek meets Quentyn and hands wildcard back to him then explains that he bought it off of M. Max, who claimed to have purchased it from a traveling trader who claimed to have gotten it from sanctuary city.

all this time and Wildcard was already sold and out of the royals hands!

and they might be franticaly searching for Quentyn being that he must be in trouble (just being separated from his bound object .. or the sword might be acting up) but they might be looking for him in his home town first.

and he leaves sanctuary city in financially no better of a position then he was when he came there. probably worse.

maybe Quenty should have told the guards about wildcard after all.

Except the only reason why he can't sense it now is because it is in a lux-proof safe. As soon as they take it out to be sold...

Nothing says i missed you more than a string of sword shaped holes thru the tumbledowns that lead straight to quent.

But the sword only does that sort of thing when quent is in danger, how will it react to colossal embarrasment?
