Help needed!

Post by StrangeWulf13 »

As a last assignment, we're supposed to give a PowerPoint presentation in my Intro to Computers Class (easiest one I have). We were allowed to pick our topics and our presentation order last Thursday. I picked Tales of the Questors 'cause I figured it'd be good promotion for Ralph.

The presentation is due Tuesday. I only just started workin' on it. -_-;; Suffice to say I'm in deep trouble, and this is without mentioning the homework I'm behind on.

Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated, though perhaps all I need is a kick in the butt. =P I'm an ol' pro at crastinating. (Bad joke; say it over enough times and you'll get it.)

I've got the Uber CD, so I shouldn't be too short on pictures. The problem is getting down a set format and making it in PowerPoint. I think I know enough to do a decent job; just need to figure out what to do.

Again, any suggestions or ideas are quite welcome. I'll be checking this forum again later. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Strange Wulf, signing off.
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

I wish I could help, but I'm not really clear on what kind of ideas you're looking for.

I understand the procrastination part though. (As evidenced by my being around on the forums at the moment... ) My finals (read: papers I have to write instead of tests) record so far: I have managed to make a 4 page paper last all weekend.

Anyway, I'll probably be around later tonight... and tomorrow...

Well, first off, give a little bit of IRL info on it. Tell what it is (webcomic, FREE), who draws it, how long it's been running, where it is, etc. Then move on to tell the basic premise of the story. Try to clip that down to a short summary. Then go and tell about the 'features' of the comic. Mention the artistry, the skillful writing, the realism, the depth of story, and the ethical foundation. This is the real meat of the presentation, as you're explaining why people would like to read it, so dive in a bit deeper. Then close with a summary of what you've covered. Invite questions at the end if the instructor allows, and be ready to answer.

Sound good?

Also, you might want to try fooling with the slide masters if you want to make your life a little easier. The slide masters are what the 'blank' slides look like when you make a new one. You can put a picture on one of those, and it will show up in the same place on every slide. That lets you theme your presentation easily, if you've got a graphic layout you know you want.

You <i>really</i> should have popped this question Saturday. I think it might be a wee bit too late to interview Mr. Hayes. (<b>Try anyway.</b>) What is the context in which you are presenting <i>Tales of the Questor</i>. . .? . . .Web comics? . . .Free sites? . . .Choice of image formats? . . .Stand-alone(by itself)? There are a lot of different ways to present this. If you haven't made a choice, you should make it yesterday. Do you have access to tutors at your school? If so, use them to the fullest extent possible.

Yeah better get cracking, best of luck
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Even though I didn't use all of 'em, I appreciate your willingness to help me out. I did manage to get it done, though for some stupid reason I waited until the last half-hour before it was due (start of class) to finish it up. >_< So it was a bit late.

Still, things went alright. I covered a few of the basics and such, explaining here and there about Questors and Rac Conans...

...and I did include the url, so if you see any n00b's in here, please be nice to 'em. Chances are good they're from my class. =P If anybody bothered to follow up on this anyway.

Next time I'm gonna add some darn sound effects... would've been nice to have the sound of a sword being drawn for the last slide...
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.
